The set is excellent value as individually the boards can be expensive and these are extremely good quality. I can't wait to start using them and hopefully with the help of Youtube and some Kumihimo books I'll be making gorgeous things in no time! Fast delivery too!

Good pack of discs for starting kumihimo. I’ve not used the smaller disc as find the standard disc more comfortable to use and not used the square disc as you can do most flat braids on the round. Disc quality and printing is good. I dropped one star as since using the 64 thread disc from the same maker, I’ve realised how much sturdier these are and the 32 discs feel a bit flimsy in comparison when doing tight braids. Perfectly good discs if you’re after a 32 though.

This may not be the fastest method of producing a braid but it may be the easiest. With the enclosed instructions and a video or two on You tube, this disk enables braids to be made very, very easily.It is as simple as move one cord up, one cord down, turn disk, repeat. The larger disk is about 6" diameter, is made from a lightweight very dense foam which keeps the cords in the right position and maintains tension. You will need bobbins to avoid nightmare tangling but simple homemade cardboard ones will be adequate whilst you find out if you want to produce further braids. It seems to be best to keep the dangling cordage under 3" long to reduce the dreaded tangle

Perfect for beginners and improvers using embroidery threads and thin paracord (say 2mm diameter).

Very versatile and great fun to use/experiment with. I braided a round cord on the disc and then transferred the cord to the square plate to create a flat braid handle for the lead I was making. Would be a great craft session for children as well as adults.
