Netgear ProSafe 8-Port Gigabit Smart Switch (GS108T-200NAS)

For around $80, this is a great little switch. I have it mounted to the back of my entertainment center, and powered via PoE from my main switch. It's nice to be able to eliminate an extra cable back there since it's so crowded already. Even though this is a "Smart" switch, it does have a hidden telnet (no SSH) CLI available on port 60000, which can be really nice for advanced users. The switch has a metal case and feels very solid.

It worked great for one week, now I'm having repeated network issues with it. I'll have to call support to get it replaced. It keeps shutting off ports by itself and now this morning I've lost all connections to it including the ability to login to it to see why the switch is not working. I'm NOT impressed with the unit.

Great little switch. It's managed so I was able to use it to create Link Aggregate Groups for my NIC teaming on my servers.

Works great with NAS using link aggregation. Got a great deal used from Amazon!

pretty much works out of the box. I use it for my home network and not yet using any of the smart features etc in a custom/special way. I only watch TV over internet connection have many smart phones/tablets, so I hope the smart features are helping. I didn't not notice a difference between before using it and after.

Excellent product, I purchased this Item to perform link aggregation (802.3ad) on my network access storage devices. Simple to configure very stable so far. This device dissipates quite a bit of heat, you need to consider this factor when designing your installation.

Enterprise grade features in a relatively cheap and compact size. Perfect for your home network.

I don’t understand it but I’m still reading the manuals.
