product works well from what i can see, didn't really get a chance to extensively test it since the harness i tried for my cat did not work in the slightest bit.

We adopted a german shepherd and had to buy a bunch of stuff in the week before we collected him. thought "hey, this is a long lead, good price, it'll be grand".The idea is great, but unfortunately the build quality wasn't great so the two halves of the holding bit didn't quite match. It's mass produced so you expect that, thought it would be ok.Thing is, I have a GSD, and he pulls a lot. Got home to find the overlap on the housing where you hold it had taken the skin off my knuckles and my hand was bloody after the walk. I kept the (detachable) light as that's a great idea, but as a first time dog owner we had a lot of expenses to pay so probably sided too much on cheap over quality on the lead. Eventually got a Flexi Giant L 8m lead which has been good for 2 years (although probs need a new one now).For a smaller dog I think it would be fine but not suitable for a 38kg dog that thinks he's a husky....
