This is amazing value for money
This torch is amazing. It's great for camping, in your boot, or in a household power cut. Very lightweight, really bright, extremely sturdy and can be charged by winding or through its solar panel. One of the best things I've bought this year. I'm going to buy some more as gifts. I'd 100 percent recommend.

Thoroughly Recommended
In my experience this torch has never let me down. I leave it facing a window and have not had to wind it to charge. It's bright enough for my use and on the whole a great little torch which I'm more than pleased with. I've had this since April 2018 now and it's still going strong, still haven't had to wind it and it still faces the window and still works well. Its rare to get something as reliable as this. I guarantee it's still going strong and I still haven't had to wind it and it's now the end of May 2020.

Decent. Effective. A little flimsy.
The torch is relatively bright, certainly more than bright enough to work from. With the solar panel and hook, it can be clipped on the outside of your rucksack to remain charged at all times. I have two main complaints: 1) the crank handle is very flimsy - I am really not sure how long it is going to last - fine for a last resort, but I would not trust it day in day out; 2) The light reflector behind the LEDs is not very efficient. As a consequence, when the torch is on, the front half of the torch glows. This is not a huge deal, but it means some of the brightness is being wasted, not being sent forwards as it should be.

I recommend this.
I like the self-contained nature of this torch, with no batteries or external charger required. Living as I do in the countryside, I find the beam perfectly adequate for safely walking across unlit fields, which I think is as good a test as any of its ability! It is light, pocketable, easy to grip and has a useful carabiner. It powers itself largely by solar power when left on a window sill; I top it up by winding it for about 5 minutes weekly, which is easy enough to do. A real bugbear of mine with torches is when they go through a sequence of on/low/flashing/SOS/whatever/off; I'm happy to report this has a simple, no-nonsense on/off switch! Well recommended.

Fine But....Not too bright
We went to some caves and each took a Torch. I was one short so bought this one. Now the product is ok, works fine but was a little disappointed with the brightness in fact my daughters IPhone torch add on was brighter than this, in fact it was the worse out of all the torches. But saying that this is designed to be an emergency torch that hand cranks and in an emergency it would work but all depends on how much light you need

No batteries? No worries.
As others have written, this is not a brilliantly bright torch. However, it gives a decent narrow beam reaching 20-30 feet, which is all I needed. It feels reasonably solid for a plastic torch. The winding handle feels quite secure and turns smoothly without very much resistance. The instructions recommend turning the handle for at least a minute every month for best battery life. The small solar panel gives another way of charging the inbuilt battery. For the money, a good torch which saves you money on batteries and is unlikely to leave you in the lurch when you need it.

Keeps its charge
A handy-sized torch - not too heavy and easy to charge up by winding the handle which has its own hole to rest in. Although sunlight can charge the torch with its small sonar panel, it keeps its charge very well by a full wind-up.

Great for occasional use. No batteries to worry about.
I needed something for occasional use in my rucksack without having to worry about battery life. I’ve tried other similar torches but they proved to be to flimsy. This feels better made.
