Works Like a Charm
Dew control solutions for telescopes are ridiculously expensive for what they are - a simple resistor mechanism. A dew controller will set you back over a hundred and a dew strap for an 80 mm refractor costs double what this thing goes for. I had my doubts it would work, but it absolutely does - and for less than a tenth of what I would have otherwise spent. It isn't quite long enough for my refractor, but a Fitbit One wrist strap works as a perfect Velcro extender. Attached is a photo of my setup right after I woke up and put my cap on my scope. Frost everywhere except around the objective - thanks to this little device.

Very suprised with the warmth!
You will be surprised at how warm this actually gets. I bought two. I will be using these to heat three different cameras and the lenses (1 DLSR, 1 camcorder, 1 GoPro and a telephoto lens for the DLSR). I will be putting them in a container to keep the lenses and "innards" from fogging up while in the cabin of a cruise ship. Very frustrating to try to get a shot and the camera is fogged up from the air-conditioned cabin then exposed to the hot humid Caribbean air.

This item works great!
Being USB powered, I had my doubts on how well the heating element would work, but for the price, I figured it was worth a try.I am an event photographer and am working a two week horse show in the Houston humidity. This morning I put this on my second shooters camera for 30 minutes before handing it off to her and then transferred it to mine 10 minutes before the first horse came in.This item works great!
