NitecoreLA10 Lantern - Black

Its actually quite difficult to find a torch that uses AA batteries these days. Most are either rechargable or use AAA batteries. This is how I stumbled across this torch which seemed to have a good reputation. Very happy with it. It can be used as a torch or a lamp, is very small, can be very bright if you choose, and most importantly uses just 1 AA battery which are very common. The controls are very simple, you screw in the base to turn on. Turn off and on quickly to change modes. This lack of moving parts such as switches means there is less to go wrong. The lamp extends like a lipstick turning the torch into a mini lamp which is plenty bright enough for average tasks. Theres also a strong magnetic base. Very happy with the torch. Its a little expensive but you get what you pay for.

A great little product. Reassuringly tough and uses a single AA; pair this with a rechargeable battery and you're set for ages. Note though it's definitely a lantern, not a torch. It's designed for hanging overhead an illuminating a dark room when the lights go out - it won't light your path ahead with only 135 lumens max. But once your eyes adjust, even the tiny 10lumen setting makes sense of a blacked-out garage; that's the sort of thing it's for. I own two of these and plan to buy more.

A great little torch that is well made and designed. The magnet on the base is strong enough to carry the weight of the torch. It can be used as a torch or as a lantern. Not a super powerful beam but good enough for most purposes.

I've got a few Nitecore torches - they're well made and very bright with good features. With the recent bad weather, we've had one or two short power cuts so I wanted something I could use to read in the event that the lights were out for a longer period. This seemed to fit the bill.It's smaller than I expected, but as well made as all Nitecore's products. Despite its size, it goes very bright and the fact that it uses a single AA battery is a plus - the ability to just swap in a new battery when it goes flat means you could keep this light running for a very long time if need be. The magnetic base is a handy feature too. In fact, it's so neat I'm thinking of getting another one to keep in the car's glove box.

Size of a chunky lipstick. Hardly going to flood light a room, but for camping, it's great. Magnetic base is strong enough to hold securely and battery has yet to run down.

Good little torch/lantern? Bright and adjustable but not great on battery life , but great overall.

Great product, and great idea. It's a bonus to have a lantern in camp or during a power cut. Torches are good, but a nice diffused light is much gentler on the eyes. This fits the bill totally.Also handy if changing a tyre at night, as it has a magnetic base.Another benefit, Is it's nice and compact

A useful addition to any flashaholic's line-up. Well built, genuinely different, and it has sufficient runtime to make it an integral part of a lightweight expedition set-up. The beam is very floody, useful both as a flashlight with the diffuser retracted, and as a lamp. My only gripe are is that the twisty switch is a clunky interface and would be better served by a reverse clicky. An 18650 version would be exceptional and I'd buy it in a heartbeat if they ever make one.

LED-Lampen unterschiedlicher Bauart, Verwendungszweck, etc. habe ich genug. Was ich gesucht habe, war eine mit Diffusor in Miniaturgröße: z.B. als rucksacktaugliche Zeltlaterne, zum Lesen in einem eher schummrigen Lokal, etc. Die Konstruktion hier ist genial: Es gibt nicht nur 3 Leuchtstärken, vielmehr kann man die Beleuchtung auch noch variieren, indem man den Diffusor mehr oder weniger "ausfährt". Die schwächste Stufe ist für den Nahbereich mehr als ausreichend, und voll aufgedreht geht wirklich die Post ab. Praktisch finde ich auch den "Bakenmodus", eine Art Blitzlicht mit der höchsten Beleuchtungsstufe, aber etwa im Sekundentakt, also batterieschonend: Man kann damit z.B. seinen Lagerstandort markieren, wenn einen nächtens ein Bedürfnis überkommt, oder für andere zum Hinfinden, und das geht wohl nur mit einem Diffusorlicht. Gut finde ich auch, dass die Lampe batteriebetrieben ist (austauschbarer Akku im AA-Format geht auch), denn wenn so ein fix verbauter Akku mal leer ist, ist so eine Lampe für Stunden unbrauchbar - falls man ihn nächtens in einem Zelt überhaupt aufladen kann.Es gibt eine Öse, die für einen (mitgelieferten) Lanyard gedacht ist, sich aber sehr gut eignet, um die Lampe irgendwo aufzuhängen, und soll sie irgendwo auf Tisch oder Boden stehen, hat sie einen ziemlich starken Magnetfuß. Notfalls kann ich sie damit z.B. auch stabil auf meine Messerklinge stellen.Der Preis schreckt mich nicht, denn die verbaute CREE XP-G2 ist technisch voll up-to-date und holt noch mehr Licht aus der Batteriekapazität, als die Vorgänger.

This is a very sturdy metal flash light. It can also be used a kind of lantern. It's small, well built and very bright. It can be so bright that it can be hard to watch. The single AA battery can last for a reasonable amount of time. The only problem is that you must unscrew the battery cap to turn the light off and screw it back to turn it on. If you want to change the brightness, you have to turn it off and on quickly multiple times (until you get the correct brightness). That means unscrew/screw up to 3 times to get what you want. This is kind of awkward and it would have been nice to have a push button instead.

Good lanturn for the money. Works with diffuser in or out. Has strobe mode plus three intensity settings. Tail cap switch is fairly easy to use. Battery life is pretty good for a single AA lamp. It came in a box with lanyard and instructions plus warranty. Im happy with product and seller
