Sweet Dixie "Fabulous Fuchsia" Ruby Precious Gems Embossing Powder

The actual embossing powder itself is a nice metallic shade, a little dark for rose gold in my opinion, it is two or three shades darker than rose gold on the iphone if that helps :) It gave a nice clean melt. it doesn't seem to be mica heavy but it did leave a slight residue on the card, however I managed to remove most of that brushing it with silicone nail art tools. For the powder itself I would have given four or five stars but I had to remove some based on the actual item I was sent. The jar I received is not new, there is sticky residue on it where there has obviously been a seal which was broken then removed. Also the label on the top of the jar is very worn, the only way I can describe it is that its like it has been wet, looks like a banknote thats been through the wash. The worst thing is that the first time I used it I went to remove the embossed piece of card and noticed what looked like little bits of straw in it that I had not noticed in the jar or when I poured it out. I looked at the jar and was disgusted to see there was some yellow crust residue around the top of the jar where the lid screws on, I don't even want to think about what it could be but I had to go through the powder in my tray and pick it all out with tweezers so it didn't end up back in the jar and all through the powder, and I had to clean whatever it was off before I could put the lid back on. Disgusted, and tbh not happy that I have obviously been sent a jar that was previously bought and returned unsealed.

This product was nether rose nor gold.....more like a muddy brown colour.Altough it did emboss it seemed to bubble up when heat was applied and didn't set smooth.Very fare price,but not worth spending over double that in postage cost. I very much doubt I will ever use this and it will just sit in a drawer as its not worth the hassle of sending back given that my local post office has now closed.Very disappointed and has put me off trying any more of " Sweet Dixie's embossing powders.

I did like this embossing powder. It has a nice thickness that alot of other powders doesn't have, It is a beautiful colour and gives a lovely shiney effect. I really like using it. I'm really pleased and it's a really good price.

Although it is a lovely colour it doesn't stick to the embossing ink. When heat gun is used (even from a fair distance) 95% of it is blown away. Quite rubbish really. It is not technique... I have the antique gold which works just fine. Several of the sweet dixie powders do not work the same as each other.
