Solid
Does the job brilliantly. I have had it for a few weeks now and I don't have any complaints. Previous buyers complained about how flimsy it was which nearly put me of buying the product. However, I have been quite rough with it (even purposely in order to gauge how robust it is) and I think it's robust enough! The legs are very strong, the clip is quite easy to unclip but as long as you are aware of that and take it into account i would feel reasonably comfortable putting a setup in a precarious position. Good value for money.I use this with a GoPro, I don't know how well it would fare with a DSLR.

Excellent
I needed a second mini tripod to take a pair of small LED lights I use for macro photography. It does that job well and is so useful in other ways. I will take it out with me occasionally for use with my smaller camera for long exposures or selfies. Not sturdy enough for the DSLR but I have a full size tripod for that.

An great bargain tripod.
What a fantastic little tripod. Having owned an original Gorillapod which eventually gave up, I decided to try the Monkey Pod as the price was great.Firstly, let’s deal with the common criticism that other reviews have highlighted. Yes the quick release plate is poorly designed and not very robust - you could easily snap the plastic catches if you’re not careful. BUT, this doesn’t make the monkey pod useless. You can easily glue the quick release plate to the tripod and it’s back in business - just screw your camera to the entire tripod. That being said, the monkey pod isn’t bombproof. It looks flimsy and I’m sure that in time, the locking screw and ball head will wear out or snap. The foam covering also has a habit of slipping down the legs and at least two of the rubber feet have popped off in use. BUT, I’ve just put mine through its paces during a 2 week holiday to the Canadian Rockies and it worked flawlessly. I had it wrapped around a rear view mirror for road trip time lapse videos, gripping tree branches and handrails upside down, the legs curled into different shapes as a makeshift stabiliser grip for run-and-gun smartphone videos, stuffed into my rucksack as it passed through 4 airports, and it held my DSLR in place just as well as my iPhone (at various angles). If it was a little more robust then I’d give it 5 stars but for this price, you can’t complain. And several people commented how groovy it looked (the red is eyecatching). Buy one!

Excellent small tripod for a smartphone
Excellent small tripod, which is perfect for my use : with a Zacro Smartphone Holder Mount and a Huawei P9, it was the perfect travel companion to shoot some timelapses and videos on the go. Ultra light weight, this tripod is also super reliable and solid/tought. I like the leg coating, which is more useful than a gorilla pod on some occasion : to put your smartphone onto the door of the car for example. A good product at a very good price.

Good in parts
The tripod itself is surprisingly sturdy, much stiffer than the smallest Gorilla-type flexi efforts. The quick release is predictably awful plastic tat that absolutely will dump your kit onto the ground even after you're sure you clicked both sides into their separate (why?!) retainers. I would never under any circumstances trust any kind of camera to this. I bought it to mount a shotgun mic and digital recorder, either of which can be dropped down a mineshaft with no obvious ill effect. I still use a rubber bracelet to hold the bracket they’re mounted on ( Movo Photo HVA20 Video Accessory Dual Shoe Bracket for Lights, Monitors, Microphones & More to the Rollei legs in case the quick release pings off. Also note that the legs are loosely hinged at the top and are free to move inwards at any time, just not outwards; this should be fine, since the weight of your kit on top forces them outwards against their stops, but it's easier than you'd expect to collapse the whole thing while trying to get it set up. As with Gorillapods, there's also nothing to ensure you set the legs in a safe configuration - it's you versus physics.

Not durable but GREAT FOR THE PRICE
It's a fantastic little tripod and although it's not very durable (mine broke after 2 months) I still loved it, you can use it in so many different situations and mount it on to a lot of surfaces to get the angles that you are looking for. You can't go wrong with this £10 spend

Weak head design
The idea is excellent. The flexible legs work exactly as expected and desired. The ball head is neat. The weaknesses ruin it. The rubber footpads - one fell off first use - sad but not a disaster. Much more annoying is the very poor design of the unit that holds the screw that connects the camera to the tripod top. It has two clips which engage in holes in the unit. The plastic is only 1mm thick. And it broke second time of use. Camera can no longer be held to tripod - the whole lot unusable. The camera is only a Canon 60HS which is not unduly heavy. I am now investigating 'spares' to see if it can be resurrected. If not available review will go down to lowest level.
