Handy tool but not very durable. Effective for cloth or thin vinyl/plastic but for anything thicker it doesn't want to hold.

Ordered these to fix ourBoat cover. Easy to use, saved a boatload ( no pun intended) of cash not having to take it in for snap repairs!

The provided tool is very difficult to use. More than half the time it just crushes the center post instead of rolling it out to crimp. This may be because of the shape of the tool or how thin the post is. Either way, you can start with a few taps on a phillips head screwdriver, causing the post to start expanding, then finish with the provided tool.

PURE CRAP! Expect to waste half of them on failures. Over 50% of them failed after being used only two times. I had to keep replacing them - they failed so often that I ran out before I ever got the whole project done. The instructions say hit it with the hammer three times but I tried three, four, two, one, hard soft - I tried everything - they just kept failing. I could be the tool they supply, or it could just be that the metal is just too cheap to hold the snaps - either way, a total waste of money. Don't make the same mistake I made. I guess I will go to home depot or Harbor Freight and get some. I have used snaps before (for many many years in my RV's) and I do get failures but it's like less than 1% every 3 years or so - these are intolerable - they fail over 50% within the first couple of times they are snapped!

The product worked as expected. I received the kid today, made the necessary repairs.I was disappointed that there wasn't some kind of instruction sheet though.
