I got this and the leave-in as my first ever Mielle products. I love the scent of this, but am glad that it dries down to me very mild.The thing is that it seems Mielle products are meant to be used in conjunction with each other. That's fine with the leave-in because I can use other brand products with it. With this custard, I will have to see if it plays well with other leave-ins. I want to be able to use it when I might not have the Mielle leave-in.PROS:+ This did help a lot with the shrinkage of freshly washed hair. It elongated the hair and that held up well as my hair dried.+ The smell is REALLY nice. It's also good that the scent doesn't overwhelm or interfere with my perfumes.+ The texture helped with applying the custard from root to tip without tugging at my fragile hair.+ I did not have to use as much to refresh my hair (and elongate the curls); I just spray-dampened my hair with a mist of water and lightly applied the custard where needed.CONS:- I noticed that I had to use quite a bit on freshly washed hair.- After this dried, I was finger-styling my hair & noticed a lot of "snow-flaking" on my dark blouse. I could also feel it on my skin. It's not horrible, but...I like this a quite a lot. While I am undecided about buying more of the leave-in (because I have others), I will most definitely be getting more of this when needed.

I refuse to buy too expensive products for my hair. I love this in the summer. I damp my hair add leave in conditioner just as instructed. I top up with oil and gel if needed for a slick quick style or tie hair down overnight and it is laiddddd in the morning. Chef kiss to this! And it doesn’t dry my hair out in the summer like some other products

I have 3b low porosity hair and this worked wonders. It’s a very light weight product with a liquid gel consistency, it’s so light I almost feel this should come in a bottle and not tis type of container. Low porosity thrives on light products, hence the amazing results I got with this custard. It provided perfect definition and NO FRIZZ, which is something I was struggling with even during styling, you could see the wet frizz on my hair. Not with this product though. It does leave a cast, which is essential to prevent frizz, but this is easily removed with a little oil after diffusing or air drying. In my case, a little per each section went a long way, so this should last me quite some time, considering I have a lot of hair, but shorter than chin length. After applying, I plopped with a cotton t-shirt for 15 mins, air dried for about an hour, then diffused on max speed, medium heat. GREAT RESULTS. This will be my go to styling product.

I have never done a custard before so I was a little worried how my hair would come out. I've only used curling creams on my 3B hair.I really like this custard. A little bit goes a long way. This defines and smoothes my curls without my hair being crunchy. I can also use it with products that are not Mielle products. That's really nice since I love my mousse.All in all, I'm pretty happy with the results from this custard. Just remember that a little goes a long way.

Very good product for laying hair down especially the short new growth! I use mielle to lay my natural hair down so that it is smooth. This product works very well with no build up. What helps even better is after applying….tie a light weight scarf around hair and blow dry for about 5-10 minutes…depending on how thick your hair is. Afterwards, remove scarf and hair will be very smooth and maybe wavy!

Oh my gosh, this is one of my favorite light weight hold curl gel. It’s great for everyday use, it doesn’t flake and the cast is light weight and I can soften it pretty easy. I will always have this apart of my curl routine.

It holds my curls and doesn’t feel sticky or hard!

This defined my 4c coils and curls after I cut all my locs off, but it doesn’t last long on my short TWA unfortunately. I will say though it is VERY IMPORTANT to follow the instructions and use the products that they recommend with this one. If you don’t follow instructions, you will get the flaking issue. If you follow the instructions it’s not that bad. It kinda sucks that I have to buy 3 products instead of using just the one, but once you get the hang of it, it does work for a bit.
