hand2mind Low-Range, Dual-Scale, Mercury-Free, Safety Thermometers for Indoor Science Use (Pack of 6)

I bought these for my class. They are easy to use and read. One of my students, of course, took it apart. It was easy to fix and put back together.

These were good value for my daughter’s science fair project. We calibrated them to room temperature and wrote whatever we had to +/- from the reading on each thermometer, it was close enough for what we needed. The thermometers are mounted slightly higher and lower within the case, with readings giving about +/- 2 at most. We bought 24 thermometers. I would not use these if you needed measurements more exact than rounding to the half degree. We read any number that was between lines with .5.

I picked up these thermometers for a simple homeschool project and figured they would be useful to have on hand for future projects as well. Unfortunately, when we attempted to use them to compare temperatures, not a single one of them read the same temperature, despite being in the same water at the same time. This was after multiple tries and leaving them out to return to room temperature before trying again.Also, the way the liquid inside travels up the tube and the beveling of the tube make it quite difficult to determine where the line is for the reading.We attempted to complete the project the same day the thermometers arrived, and when we couldn't get them to work, I attempted to return them. At the time, there was no indication in the product description or details that these couldn't be returned, but that might have been updated following my complaint during the return process attempt.So, not only do I have a product that doesn't work, I am out the money I paid for them because they are "ineligible for return." NOT a happy customer in this regard.

Like others said, out of the box all 6 do not show the same temperature. However, I knew this and just moved and glued the glass so they all show the same reading. It mostly worked, it's hard to align them all exactly since the hash marks are so close together and represent 2 degrees each.

A little hard to read but perfect for our experiments.

So I purchased 6 of these since none of the digital were accurate for an egg incubator. I put all 6 in the incubator. 4 read 100 degrees but 2 read 80 and 90 degrees so, not even these are completely accurate. Pick your poison when needing a accurate temp on incubation temps

Cheap if you lose them or break them

Just what I needed

Consistently show the temperature five or six degrees below the actual temperature. Useless.
