The Makita XAG04Z 18V LXT® Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Grinder is a fantastic tool! I’ve used it for various projects around the house, from cutting metal to grinding down rust, and it hasn’t disappointed. The brushless motor provides plenty of power, and the 18V LXT battery system ensures it lasts a long time between charges. The 4-1/2" / 5" adjustable guard is really convenient for different types of jobs, and the grip feels comfortable during extended use.

Great tool., speed, stability and balance, the fact that I could comfortable hold this tool for a long time while working made it worth while buy.

Excellent grinder. Turns on quickly and is strong enough to cut through thick material. Battery life is impressive for the sheet metal cutting I did.

I have a lot of stock in both Milwaukee and Makita cordless tools and corded tools. So when I needed a new grinder I knew it had to be cordless, brushless and one of these 2 brands. I had owned the brushed Milwaukee and didn't care for it, and have used the brushless Fuel version, which is so much better. However when I was looking at the Milwaukee compared to this Makita I couldn't overlook the $60 price difference, so I went with the Makita. After using it for several weeks of grinding and cutting steel, I have to say...its a fantastic tool! Its got plenty of power on a 5.0 battery and will go for several days of intermittent use without draining the battery. Its not much heavier than the corded versions with the 5.0, and its so convenient to be able to work untethered. Of course you can run the Milwaukee until the cows come home with the 12.0 battery but who wants to carry that monster?? The next one I buy will be the XAG09Z for the electric brake, its worth the extra $25 to be able to just set it down after you switch it off and not have to wait for the wheel to spin down or grind on something to stop it. Sorry Milwaukee, I see no reason to spend the extra money for the Fuel unless you needed the extra runtime and don't mind holding the weight of a giant pack.

It's Makita. This brand ranked within top three in almost every reviews. Only the cored can top this because it have more power than batteries.

If you're considering a grinder, this cordless Makita is the WAY TO GO!!! It's compact enough to fit anywhere, very durable (dropped it from a 40' windmill by accident), and the most quiet grinder I've ever used. I only wish it had a tool belt hook.ZERO DISAPPOINTMENTEXCELLENT VALUE

Make sure you have five amp hour batteries because it does drain the power quickly but the machine works absolutely fantastic
