Beat expectations
I have used down comforters for too many years to count and owned insert from inexpensive to more expensive. I like that they breathe as I'm a hot sleeper. One thing I learned is that a cotton cover is recommended to increase the longevity of the down.. I knew I wanted a down insert that was primarily down filled with lower feather count, who doesn't hate poking feathers. My wish list included a 100% goose down insert of a lesser loft and a considerably higher price, even on sale. So when the price of this insert hit my goal budget, I jumped on it. I'm so glad that I did because it exceeds my expectations. One I wasn't expecting much loft, because duck down is smaller that goose down but because the fill power was a little higher than the goose down insert I was considering I wasn't expecting much loft. To my delight this insert, within 48 hours, and yes let the insert breathe for 48 hours, was nice and fluffy. Noise level of the insert is negligé, softness of the shell pleasant, and movement of down between baffles non-existent. Who could ask for me in a down insert.Hope you find the same pleasure in owning this down insert as I have.

Great blanket.
We ordered a king size for a queen bed-I always order up on down blankets or was told to. This one is super soft, warm, it’s not too heavy weight but it really warm we use a fleece over the top and that’s it for blankets with heat set to 60 in winter(in maine-we if negative 50 outside and this was our only blanket we needed to sleep warm and comfortably)…it’s perfection to sleep under. I love this blanket. And it’s actual feathers in it so it is what they say it is by feel-I’ve gotten a real down recently and it had no feathers! Wasn’t an alternative plus this one’s price is decently awesome, and it came quickly. The blanket does make some noise but I mean…get a cover and it’ll be fine-we don’t notice it really. It can have a smell but all actual down comforters do have a smell to them. Over the last bit it’s gone away. I do need to wash it so gunna see how that goes and update after…one of my kittens went into heat so now I got blood drops that I need to get clean…I like this blanket been using it for a while now few months and still really like it. I find it comfortable, soft, and warm. It did take a few days to fluff up after taking out of packaging (we had no random stains or hair or anything odd it was brand new for sure)…I did shake it to fluff it up and that did it. I find the individual squares are pretty equal in their fill and when refluffed as I make the bed they lay out pretty well and we get great warmth and coverage from it. I was not expecting a blue line across one side (we use that as the top side though and it helps me know which way to put it on the bed).I highly recommend letting it sit out a few days after receiving and give it some time to let the smell go away as all down blankets have an odor. Def let it air out a bit though and be ready for some noise from moving under it it did quiet down over time some and I’m sure it will eventually not make noise…it’s just the material which from past experience definitely helps reduce loosing the down/feathers and helps maintain quality. I’ve had ones that weren’t this material and they were awful after a short period of time and she’d feathers/down all over. So glad this one hasn’t lost a single feather or any down from what I’ve seen!!

Things to know about a down comforter...
My husband and I have slept under down/feather comforters for the past 15 years and all 6 of my children have down/feather blankets on their beds so I've spent a lot of time over the years learning about and experiencing different aspects of the down world. Up front, I am very pleased with this 75% duck down, 25% duck feather king sized comforter. At a $100 price point, I don't think you will find better. Some things I think are worth mentioning so those in the market know what to look for:1) The down to feather ratio is quite important. Legally, companies selling "down comforters" have to be selling items that are 75% down minimum. More expensive US based bedding stores follow this but the Chinese companies that sell through Amazon don't. If you know that ahead of time you can be more realistic about what to expect for any given price point.2) Actual down is both lighter weight and more insulating than feathers which makes higher percentage of down (vs feathers) in comforters lighter in weight AND thinner for the amount of warmth you receive. A blanket advertised with a higher fill weight (ounces of down/feather) does not necessarily mean a warmer blanket. Of course you want enough filling to actually do the job but many people incorrectly believe that a high quality down comforter should be extremely puffy and full. This might look nice but a true down comforter of this puffiness would be unbearably hot. If you want bedding for pure looks, a comforter with a higher feather content will look thicker. (It will also be heavier and bulkier without necessarily adding to the warmth.)3) Down itself comes in different qualities. This company claims their 75% duck down option has a 750+ warmth rating. This would indicate a very high quality down. Another factor is duck vs goose. Technically goose down has a higher warmth rating and lifespan but you will pay extra for it. The 80/20 option (which I did not purchase) is goose. I'm very happy with the duck filling.4) Quality of cover is important. The higher the thread count the tighter the weave and therefore the less likely it is for tufts of down and feather to escape. The higher quality fabric should last longer as well. I don't actually know the thread count of these comforters but it seems quite good. Probably higher than 400. Because of this, it does make a bit of a crinkly sound. This should soften out as time passes but some people are not expecting this and do not like the noise.5) Some people simply do not like the smell of down. This comforer, and every other down comforter/blanket/coat/etc will have a slight smell to it. I don't mind it at all but some call it musty. Keep that in mind.Down is a wonderful insulating material. Nothing beats it for warmth and coziness! Once you go down this path you may never be able to go back. This down comforter is exactly what I was hoping for and seems to be a high quality, lightweight, all-season warmth level for an unbeatable price.

Great Cozy Quality!
This duvet is nice and warm, and the main reason I chose it is because it’s washable.I wanted to test wash it before using it, so my husband took it to the laundromat and brought it home still somewhat damp. I shook it out a bit and laid it out in a room where our cat wouldn’t climb all over it.After sitting overnight it smelled somewhat nasty, or like my husband said, “like rancid popcorn.” I brought it upstairs and laid it over the kitchen table near an open screen door for the afternoon. I gently fluffed each section to break up the clumps of damp feathers and gave the whole thing a good shake when it was dried. The smell went away when completely dry, and I’m very happy! It’s quite heavy and very warm in our downstairs bedroom. The only thing I would change is that it’s quite noisy any time you move, but other than that I love it!
