Great way to control and automate your lights from Alexa or the free App
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. My wife and I are starting to automate our home and having a lot of fun doing so. These smart plugs will allow you to control your lights through a free app anytime you like. You can set a count down timer, or different times of the day and night to come on and off. Or you can easily just press the control on your smart phone or tablet. As you will see in the video I am controlling the light from my tablet and also through Alexa. So when you are connected with Alexa all you have to do is tell her to turn on or off your light and she will do this :-) The setup only took a few minutes so you should not have any problems. The only thing you need other than these switches is Wi-Fi in your home or business.I hope this review was of some help with your decision Take Care, GrandpaJake :-)

Yes they work with Alexa, and it is easy to set up.
These are great and easy to set up. I have read some recent reviews where people have had trouble setting them up with Alexa. I had no such trouble, it's easy though you need to download the Smart Life App first connect up your plugs, then enable the Skill in Alexa. I am currently running 6 in my house controlling all my Christmas lights. Some questions that I can answer:1. Q: Can you rename it.A:Yes you can rename them to whatever you want (such as Bedroom Lamp)2. Q:Can you change the name later.A: Yes, you can change the name later, so if you move it from "Bedroom Lamp" to say "Christmas Tree"....such a change does not seem to affect Alexa at all - it works fine.3. Q: Size: Can I plug something else in next to it on a double plug socket? Answer: Only a small plug, anything else won't fit.4. Q.Can they be used outside.A: They are not weather proof...so I do but you shouldn't!Any issues? I burnt one of mine out by putting too many Christmas lights running off it. I would say this is user error rather than a design flaw. Additionally as I said above, they aren't outdoor plugs and due to their size they are unlikely to fit inside an outdoor plug cover (the ones you buy from your local hardware store to keep the weather out...I have expandable ones and once you plug in the lights, they are just too large to close and seal it up).Well worth it!

I wanted to be able to have smart plugs that 1
I wanted to be able to have smart plugs that1. kept a regular schedule;2. I could also turn on and off both individually and in groups via my Echo device. These plugs are perfect for that. Download the SmartLife app to your phone (requires you to set up an account for controlling your devices while off your home network, uses your phone number as your account name), plug it in, pair to app, rename if desired. I set up the schedule in the SmartLife app. Then, from the Alexa app, enable the SmartLife link, and you can trigger Alexa to find the devices. After this, your Alexa can turn the plugs on and off by the names you gave them. You can also setup group(s) in the Alexa app and control multiple plugs with one command.I got these specifically for the lights on my aquariums. The schedule runs on its own and I can turn on/off the lights plugged in to one plug or all the plugs at once. I didn't know if this was asking too much of these low-cost devices, but it works really good.

Very good and affordable.
These are cheap, actually the cheapest smart plugs that I found on Amazon but the work really well. I bought 6 of them and so far I haven't had any problems. They work just as described. I can link them to Alexa and Google home. I feel very lucky to have accidentally found this product because there are no reviews on youtube on this item.

21st century timers: work with Google Home, too
These are fantastic! I was trying to find a timer that did not get reset or changed every time someone touched it by mistake or when the power went out (I actually don't know what would happen with these if the power went out, but I'll post if I do). They are easy to program and, bonus, the app can be controlled by your Google Home, too, so you can override your preset schedule. Clever idea and working great.

Good product with excellent support
After some trouble with the plugins at the beginning, I experienced an excellent support with real dedication to customer satisfaction.I like the option between phone and email for creating an account necessary for Amazon, IFTTT and/or Google. I prefer email. This time, I managed the registration (although 2 feet to the wifi hotspot seem to be too close, with 10 feet it worked).Coming from Europe and going to return to Europe in about 2 years, I really appreciate the support of 100-240 V so I can use the outlets there (Other products I widely use offer only one voltage range, 110V or 220V, so I had to buy converters and will have to sell the rest when returning). Not with this product. As they use the Wifi, I would appreciate if they would add support for the Wemo protocol, too to be able to control the devices within the local network and with third party tools like Automation Manager, WemoWay or Tasker). IFTTT is an option but again needs internet access. Alternatively a plugin for Tasker would be great on Android and could make all of their products even more useful.

Poor quality control makes these Smart Plugs an un-smart choice.
A pair of devices, where one worked perfectly and the other did not. Common complaint from other purchasers. I hoped we would have better luck, but it is good to have Amazon's return policy & procedures. The installation of the device's software app and integration with Amazon Echo devices was bit funky, but OK. Not for the technically challenged. I did purchased two KASA Smart Plugs by TP-Link from Amazon that at a much higher price were easy to install, configure and control with Alexa.
