Learn to Read with EP: Part of the Easy Peasy All-in-One Homeschool (EP Reader Series)

I have used this with 2 of my children and will be using it again in the future. I chose to always start with phonics (which is the last section of the book), then I go back to the beginning of the book and go through the McGuffey Primer and the First McGuffey Reader. It is a solid, inexpensive, no planning way to build reading skills with your child.

We are officially homeschooling 3 children this year. Two of those three are still learning to read (or working on getting better). We have used multiple reading programs in the past and this one is working very well. I know all children are different, so what works for one child might not work for another, but this is working well for two of our kiddos. Plus, another kiddo who isn't yet "officially" homeschooling yet just read the first 5 lessons with me the other day! I was amazed at how quickly she just picked it up!Highly recommend this reading book and Easy Peasy's other workbooks. We use the Easy Peasy workbooks for Language Arts, Math, and the Genesis Curriculum's copywork workbook (GC is a God-focused curriculum offered by Lee Giles, the author of Easy Peasy).

Your child MUST know every sound of the alphabet before you use this book.My advice is to let them read each lesson three times a day. And look in the back of the book and teach them more sounds that they don’t know yet.(Ex: “ue” as in Sue, “ind” as in blind, “ow” as in cow and all the vowels.) Also, although this is phonics, it’s very important to teach them sight words such as “the, she, are, one, etc.. flash cards will be so helpful.Your child will learn. Be patient. I always like to review the lesson she just learned the day before. It’s ok to read the word they don’t know. They will catch on very soon. It’s ok for them to remember what they read. It will all come together.

El programa permite que el niño comience a leer desde el inicio, eso hace que tengan confianza y se sientan muy bien al poder leer sus historias. Se pudiera distribuir las palabras en uno o dos días, imprimirlas y pegarlas en algún lugar de la casa y repasarla durante el día y en la noche intentar que el niño lea la historia. En mi caso siempre les ponía a leer con la aplicación para que escuchara la pronunciación correcta.Ya casi terminamos todo el libro y estamos en la parte de la fonética que ha sido mucho mas fácil para el niño.Es un programa para todas las edades que quieren repasar y aprender a leer si se usa en conjunto con la aplicación o el programa en línea.

Excellent for homeschooling

I am so excited about this program thank you Lee for all he adaptations you made I am an avid reader now (age 66) but struggled all through school and hated reading as I could not understand realized many years later that I was caught in reversals- so is my granddaughter she is very ambidextrous and has a hard time remembering to read left to right I am debating on ordering the workbook as finances are hard right now but I know I can print on line (bless Your Hear for making easy peasy free) I found out about it from my niece who uses your sight for all her kiddo's. My family and I are on a budget and we needed a homeschool curriculum that was free and flexible. This is it! My daughter is 4 and we are now on our 4th week of the curriculum and she is doing great! She even has read her first full story by herself and told me that she loves reading. I can't wait to put up my actual review on youtube since there isn't many families who have reviewed it that I've seen. If you are thinking about using this book and the easy peast curriculum I highly suggest it! My kids love it!

It is easy to follow. Bought it for my 4yo and received just a few days ago in mail. We're already on lesson 4.
