Q: Can anyone tell me if this Spigen case is thinner or about the same as the Apple clear case?

Same. This case is superior in my opinion as the magnet is much stronger than the Apple clear case and it won't be subject to cracking like last year's version of the Apple clear case did.

Q: The magsafe circle on the inside of the case is raised; not embedded/flush like the zagg. anyone see signs of marring ot the iphone's finish?

I do not and have not had this issue.

Q: Is the ring on the inside exposed - meaning can you feel it? Wondering if it might scratch the phone.

Hello there! Yes the ring on the inside is exposed, however it is not razor sharp to scratch the matte surface of the iPhone. If you carry the iPhone with the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case with keys or place in a purse with sharp objects you will scratch the cover and loose the nice finish on the outside.
