I am a supporter of small tech companies. Being a software engineer I know going in that buying these off-brand products is a bit of a gamble and it usually means doing some research, solving glitches etc.On this case, I installed the unit in my car and right from the beginning it would not boot. I looked online, read about the reset pin, did a hard reset and the unit booted, lastet less than 30 seconds on and the screen went off and the unit unresponsive again. After a few more attempts I contacted Corehan and they replied very quickly with a firmware to install. I though, "ok, fine." I followed their instructions to try and install the firmware and the update failed. In subsequent emails with them, I sent them every bit of information they requestes, even when I knew it would not make a difference and they responded with "new" firmwares for me to try. I did a little comparison and saw that the archives they were sending me were byte-to-byte identical and told them so. They insisted that I should try it anyway and, even though I know it was the exact same firmware I did and to no-ones surprise it failed again. They then said their engineers were looking into it and days later they sent me another archive which again was identical to the ones before. They wasted two weeks of my time with no working stereo on my car and never really attempted anything to diagnose or fix the issue. It is not even clear whether the unit has some defective hardware or they are incapable of sending me the right firmware, in any case, I have no option but to send it back.
