A Bloody Blatant(at times) British Biased Book
a book for students? not rightly so unless they already have sufficient text skills to detect the British bias that underly the entirety of the book, all parts of it is seeped in this constant bias of british good, innocent and everyone else that isnt supporting the british point of view is the warmongers, overall bad fellows and all that, be it the boors or germans, austrians or russians (when of course they are not allied to the british, then they are the good guys), the book does not go into depth with the various hawk and war lobbies of the entente nations and pretends they do not exist, is apolegetic towards British actions... and the list goes onso; The Good;nice schematics of of treaties, overviews of primary reasons for war, pictures of the times.gramatically correct...the bad;all the questions asked border on leading towards a pro british point of viewThe Ugly;most of the book has an underlying blatant british bias, everyone else is bad unless of course they are working with the british, all events and people highlighted are done so in a generally negative light.the is not any sort of objective points of view in this book, it is generally apolegetic for the british and their alliesit lacks any citations and references so cannot be used as a scholary work (for which it would never pass outside perhaps of britain)it treats the subjects biased, boers, germans and austrohungarians are portraited as bad guys out to wreck the british empire and the peace....the list unfortunately goes on but my patience with this crap is at an end. Conclusion;Do not buy itunless you have a deep understanding of the period and are capable of teaching your students (or yourself) based on biased materials, this book is not for you or any school system, the schematics are barely good enough for a 1 hour lesson but all of the text must be considered blatantly biased, requiring a lot of study and reference materials from outside the book to have a chance of an objective assesment of the period.
