GOBS OF POWERFUL output! Detailed, clean sound. Class D TPA3255 chip amp is the real deal!
TLDR: If you need a powerful, great sounding amp, get this Aiyima a200. Strong recommendation. The end.Why I chose this product: I wanted a powerful clean-sounding amplifier to power passive bookself speakers for a desktop setup (75% music/25% gaming) to replace a large avr that takes up too much space.Packaging/Accessories included: Comes in a plain cardboard box with some foam for protection. Includes the Aiyima a200 unit itself, 4-foot power cord, bluetooth antenna, instruction manual, and a sticker (see photo).Build Quality/Features: Nice-looking black metal case (good for dissipating heat, 4 rubber feet at the bottom, having vent holes on left/right side of the case is good (putting hand on the case is luke warm and doesn't get hot), internal power supply 42V 7.5V (much more powerful than Aiyima a07 default external 32V 5A), includes a DAC with a USB input, bluetooth has excellent range.Speakers/Setup: Philharmonic AAM v2 bookshelf speakers (based on parts-express BR-1 kit with a modified crossover), desktop setup, tweeters raised to ear height to avoid desktop reflections, toed-in towards listening area, listening in direct without EQ.The Philharmonics are very neutral speakers with an 84.5 dB (dB/2.83v/1M) sensitivity, 6 Ohms impedance. The rated -3db point is 48hz, but these still have noticeable output at 35hz. The 6.5-inch paper woofer puts out a hefty amount of bass for a bookshelf speaker. While not the hardest speaker to drive, bass hungry speakers work the amp harder. This is my first foray into class-D amps and I was skeptical at first. Normally just use class-AB amps, but heard too many positive comments regarding the Texas Instruments TPA3255 chip amp that I had to try it out.In comes the challenger, Aiyima a200, to go against my Denon AVR-1712, rated by the manufacturer at 90Wx2 into 8ohms with 0.08%THD, 125Wx2 into 6 ohms with 0.7%THD.Manufacturers exaggerate on specs all the time, so I’ll have to go by my own listening tests. First of all, I’m shocked that I have to turn up the volume over twice as much on my Denon compared to this Aiyima a200. On the Aiyima a200 at quarter volume, it is about to blow me out of my seat. Any higher and the volume gets very uncomfortable. Wow, so much excess available power, which means lower distortion. Honestly, I think the a200 is powerful enough for almost any floorstanding speakers in a fairly large room without significant distortion. Super impressed by the power output for the price/size of this unit. There is no hissing, humming or any noticeable distortion that I hear at low/medium/high volume levels. Excellent, as I can't stand any type of unwanted annoying noises.Subjective listening: Take with a grain of salt since I didn’t have quick-switching or SPL level-matching to change in-between songs. Often times, if music sounds louder, then a user might think it sounds better just because it’s louder. Anyways, the a200 seemed to be more open and airier than the Denon. The treble and midrange seemed to have greater clarity and detail. And the bass sounds a tad more articulate on the a200. Very pleased with the musical presentation I'm hearing. Gonna store the Denon away or maybe donate it. The Denon sounds worse, less efficient, is a space heater, and takes up more space.Summary:I’m super satisfied with this amplifier and it gets a strong recommendation from me based on my testing. Note: I've only owned this for a few days, so I can't comment yet on the reliability of the a200.I prefer 2.0 channel listening for music. However if I decide to add a subwoofer at a later time to the a200 I can still hook up to a subwoofer by choosing one that has high level inputs. Thus, the lack of a subwoofer out is not a detriment to me. Also, many believe that a subwoofer hooked up through high level inputs is more natural sounding for music. If you don’t want the internal power supply and bluetooth, you could also get the Aiyima a07 which also has the TPA3255 chip amp. That one has a subwoofer 3.5mm out connection if that is desired. However, the a07 comes with a less powerful external power supply (32V 5A) compared to the a200 (42V 7.5A). You would need to buy a stronger power supply to match the power of this a200. In addition, I would need to make sure the a07 will not overheat with the increased power. I don't believe the a07 has vent holes.Pros: Gobs of power, Detailed and clean sound. Bluetooth connects quickly (no password) and has excellent range. In my 2400 square feet 4-bedroom one-story home, I had to walk at opposite ends of the home to break the signal. Binding posts are nicely spaced out. Like the looks of the black metal case.Cons: No major deal-breakers.Nitpicks: Binding post holes are too small for bare wire to fit through (I could not fit my thick 12-gauge wire through the tiny hole (that's what she said), doubtful if 14ga would fit, probably 16ga will fit). I recommend getting banana plugs or spade connectors prior to purchasing. You can make it work with bare wire: split into two equal twisted strand groups, stick one piece through hole, and wrap the other around the binding post; however it won't be super secure. The blue power light button is a bit too bright in my opinion. 4-foot power cord is little short, but easily replaced as the power cord is very common. This did not include a USB-PC cable (printer cable). Thus, I couldn’t test the DAC of the a200. However, since bluetooth and USB-PC is on the same input, I may leave it connected to RCA. That way if I want to quickly switch to PC from bluetooth I can just click the volume button instead of disconnecting bluetooth from my phone to get back to PC since both bluetooth and USB are on a single input selection. When I’m able to test the DAC, I’ll update my findings in this review. However, I'm leaning toward getting a DAC/headphone amp combo to connect to this a200 since I need a headphone amp. If I need another amp for my living room, I may get another a200. Love this thing.

You get what you pay for...
I really wanted to like this unit but...The Good: The sound quality was very good for the price. Very dynamic with excellent detail retrieval. This was using an external "giant-killer", the Schiit Audio Modi DAC.The Bad: cheap speaker connectors that only accept very small wire. Cheap feeling volume control. Could not connect directly to my iPhone via USB with the correct USB adapter. I got an error that the device required too much power. Using another external USB DAC it did sound good.
