Cataclysms of the Earth: The HAB Theory Reloaded

Can you think for yourself?
I found reading CATACLYSMS OF THE EARTH by Hugh Auchincloss Brown to be a really mind-opening experience. The first part of the book discusses the theory that the polar ice caps regularly build up such size and weight over thousands of years that our spinning earth eventually sends them careening toword the equator. In many respects this makes much more sense that the usual "ice ages" and warm ages stuff we have been taught. Here's why...-It explains the ubiquitous "great flood" stories found in so many ancient societies around the globe. There's not enough water on the earth for the oceans to cover the tall mountains. But if the land suddenly started moving rapidly, then the oceans, by inertia, would be seen to flood onto and over the land.-Entire flash frozen mastadons have been found in Siberia with temperate climate grasses in their stomachs and mouths. One minute they were eating grass and the next they were frozen solid. Careening poles is the best explanation for this.-Hudson bay, in Canada, was evidently the north pole in recent geologic history. The land is rebounding rapidly and there are ice scratches on the surrounding rocks which radiate out in all directions from the center. There is also so much more than I can even get into here in this brief review. Clearly Hugh Auchincloss Brown was a man who dared to think for himself. He goes on to state his own theory of what gravity is and shoots some big holes in the ideas we associate with Newton. If you totally believe in the modern day religion of "science" as promoted in the media and universities then you will have great trouble with this book. As a conspiracy researcher, I finally came around to realize that big chunks of what we are taught as "science" and "history" are simply fabrications or distortions used to steer us away from truths which might free us from outside control. Here's a brief quiz you can take to see if you might like this book. If you are a person who questions any of the following things which "everybody knows to be true", then you might be ready for this book...+ The Apollo moon photographs were actually taken on the moon.+ Humans evolved from monkeys and cave men in the past million years or so.+ The Federal Reserve System is a government organization to protect us from greedy capitialists.+ President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and all Americans, were totally surprised when the Japaneese attacked Pearl Harbor for no good reason at all.+ Diebold computerized voting machines are a scientific and accurate way to tally votes.+ Both the twin world trade center towers, and nearby building 7, simply fell in on themselves on 9-11 because the hot fires weakened or melted the steel.+ "Free trade" is a concept that will bring everybody prosperity.+ Much of what is on TV these days is sleazy just because that is what most people want. If you agree with this list, better stick with reader's digest.Jim McPherson truthseeking.org

WOW ! After Reading This I Might Have to Burn My Science Degrees!
I mean Brown doesn't even believe in gravity!I bought and read this book because I am attracted to Charles Hapgood's ideas about periodic shiftings of the earth's poles. (See his =Earth's Shifting Crust=, forward by THE Alfred Einstein.) And to be sure Brown also believes the poles have shifted from one epoch to another, but not to the same places exactly as Hapgood, nor at the same times as Hapgood. Hapgood presents evidence. Brown mostly makes assertions. (Citations, if they are presented at all are mostly to various editions of the Encylopaedia Britannica and even occasionally to the Columbia Desk Encyclopedia!)But after he's done with the shifting poles, he explains all sorts of things: Masses don't really attract each other; Nearly all the earth's water was created by animal life, photosynthesis, and combustion of materials; Volcanoes and Hot Springs are caused by electric current flowing within the earth; Electric currents, not magnetism, cause compasses to point north. And more. What's fascinating about this, to me at least, is that he comes up with: what-about-this questions that confront the conventional wisdom. So why don't we weigh more at midnight, when the sun should be pulling us toward the center of the earth, than we do at noon when the sun should be pulling us away from the center of the earth? (Brown seems to think our weight is caused by bombardment of cosmic radiation raining down upon us. I know. I know there are all sorts of problems with this.) And that compass needle - float it on a block of wood in a tub of water and it will still point north but Brown claims the block of wood will not be attracted toward the north end of the tub.

Pole shift and more
Might be real; very real. Read to see what might be. This guy is an engineer and a real one who thought long and hard about all of this before writing. It matches too with many legends from ancient cultures about the Great Years this Earth has experienced; and the many forgotten cultures and civilizations which are no more.

Five Stars
Just the thing for those of us who still treasure "The HAB Theory".

TOO MUCH RELYING ON POLES AND EXTENSIVE ICE
A FINE PIECE OF LITERATURE BUT CONTAINS OUTDATED MATERIAL......WANTS US TO BELIEVE THAT LARGE ICE CAPS CAUSE MASS CATACLYSMS AND FAILS TO BRING INTO ACCOUNT POSSIBLE OUTSIDE FORCES....

The inside story!
The study was done at the 5th Av Public Library and was sent to the head ofThe US Arctic expedition while Eisenhower was president, which followed up on some questions thatMr Brown had. They agreed with almost all his findings and investigated his requests. The Russian embassy came to him and offered to bring him to Russia and set up an expedition to continue his work.He was in his 90s and of course, refused. How do I know?He lived his last 10 years as a boarder in my mothers house. He was Uncle Brown to my kids and loved playing the piano when they visited. He was an electrical engineer graduated in 1900 and became the chief engineer for Otis elevator company.
