Working so far
It is hard to write a review on something like this, as its ability to perform its job is based on someone attempting to steal your property. However, from using it I can see that it is well made and quite sturdy. It is very heavy so bear this in mind when cycling with it! It locks quickly and you don't doubt whether it is actually locked. It comes with a good number of keys and the warranty is good.As with this style of lock, the way you attach your bike to a rack is limited by the shape of the rack and your bike. I had to purchase another lock to actually reach the frame of my bike due to having a floor based rack at work and this design only allowed the wheel to be locked. If left outside it does rust a little so be aware of this if it is intended to be used frequently in outdoor places, even if undercover.

Great sturdy lock
Been using this for several weeks in the UK hub for bike theft on my e-bike, excellent and sturdy lock that is definitely thick enough to be a deterrent to any thieves!

Sturdy lock inspires confidence. However Accessories are very low quality
Whilst this does seem like a sturdy lock, both the clamp that allows you to attach the lock to bike frame and the LED key are very poorly put together.Nuts in the plastic housing in the clamp fell out forcing me to use superglue to keep them in placeand LED on the key shorted on first use.Maybe better quality assurance could be put ion place regarding these items. However as stated very happy with the lock itself.

Good Lock
Did plenty of research to try and find a decent lock for a good price. A lot of insurance companies won't even insure your bike unless it's locked with a Gold rated lock so this fit the bill. Not much else to it really but seems to do the trick. Easy to lock and unlock.

Excellent bike security for the price
I bought a new bike recently and did a fair bit of research into the best types of bike locks (long story short - never buy a cable lock!) U locks are always good in my opinion and the OnGuard ones came up as a good balance between size, security and price (a very reasonable £21). The shackle is one of the thickest you can get, second only to the Kryptonite New York ones, which are a LOT more expensive and according to some tests I've seen, are only a little harder to get through with an angle grinder (as the main application of a bike lock is unfortunately to make a bike thief go to the next, less secure bike) but more or less impossible with bolt croppers. It came with 1 LED light key and 4 other normal keys, which is handy, and the top and bottom of the shackle are rubberised so they shouldn't damage your paintwork. Although the shackle does thin slightly as it enters the bottom section, this is in an area which a thief shouldn't be able to access anyway. The size is good and I've so far had no trouble fitting it over the rear of the frame, through the tyre and round a 'Sheffield' style bike park stand. You don't want much spare space inside the lock anyway, to prevent people putting pry bars or pneumatic jacks in there. The only downside is that this is quite a heavy lock and is probably best to leave at home or work, and it can also be a little diffficult to get the shackle to correctly engage so that you can lock it if you're in a hurry - I guess that just means it fits tighter and is more secure though?

The best U-lock for your money
After reading up for the best U-lock for my mountain bike I found the Brute by Onguard and it got some great reviews saying how secure it is and for the price is the best value. The Brute lock is the best U-lock in the Onguard range but is also the heaviest, the Pitbull is a lot lighter but doesn't have as higher security rating but maybe a better choice if you want a lighter lock to carry about with you, the mounting bracket supplied with this Brute lock was apparently meant for the Pitbull lock which is lighter but they also used the same bracket for the Brute which is s lot heavier!, although I've not tested the bracket out.All the Onguard U-locks come in 3 sizes, mini, std and long. I purchased the std size as I thought the long/large lock would be too big and the mini too small, although I think the mini would have been ok but wasn't sure it would be big enough to fit my mtb. I couldn't find it for sale for a similar price as the std size lock anyway. The lock came with 5 keys which I thought was brilliant, one key lights up and has a small replaceable battery in it.The keys can be registered with the supplied key code in case you loose them all and/or need replacements but it will cost a fee to get replacements. This Brute lock has a 97 security rating out of 100, which is the best U-lock Onguard make. To get a 99 rating lock you need to buy the Beast chain lock!, but this is not very practical to carry with you. This Brute lock also has a Sold Secure Gold Rating.Anti-theft insurance as other have mentioned is for USA only.Inside lock dimensions of the Brute are 11mm x 202mm.Overall for the money this lock looks to be a good buy, the next best U-lock lock up from this I think is the Abus 401 but this is about £45.I purchased this lock mainly for use at home to keep my bike secure when I go out, if I was to be taking this lock out with me on a daily basis I would maybe consider getting a mini version or a lighter lock, although I did actually find I could still get this lock to fit in my jeans pocket!...Also this lock weighs quite a bit and I'm sure it would have cost extra for the seller to post it so I guess this makes it even better value.

LPL aproved... BUT!!
LockPickingLawer says "unlikely to be picked".Everyday user says;It is stiff and difficult to lock/unlock. WD-40 or 3-in-1 does not matter. I need two hands and one leg to lock it. I bet it is goof from security point of view by very impractical in daily use.Sometimes key gets stuck inside - I bet it is part of general stiffness of this lock, but once or twice I was almost in position where I wanted to leave this lock with a key inserted next to my bike as I was unable to pull the key out for a while!Very annoying!!Kryptonite worked well for +5 years then seized. A week in oil-bath and still unable to open!So this is a replacement and from the first day gives me some headache!!Will see how long it will last??
