12 Inch Clear Acrylic Lamp Post Globe with 3.91 Inch Solid Flange Neck

I got it to use to make a crystal ball for Wizard of Oz theater prop. Worked great. I cut a hole in a plastic bowl (painted black) and used clear epoxy to affix the ball to the bowl flipped upside down, then attached puck LED light inside the ball that are remote controlled and it was great. We decided to spray a frost paint to the clear plastic to diffuse the LED lighting for stage and it was perfect. DO NOT drop the globe. It will break. I dropped it on my tile floor in the process of building it and broke it, so I had to order a second one!! Lesson learned. Plastic will break. LOL The puck lights were also purchased on Amazon in case you are interested.

We bought 5 clear acrylic globes to replace the opaque ones we had on our outdoor lamppost. While I was installing them, my wife noticed that our artificial grass was melting due to the focused sunlight on the ground that was produced in a matter of minutes by the clear globes. It was like a magnifying glass and the heat was intense enough to burn anything. We immediately covered the grass and removed the globes. They were packed up and sent back to the supplier the same day. Even though they were advertised as returnable, we got stuck with a 20% restocking fee. Now we also have to pay to replace the artificial turf that was damaged. very disappointed. THESE GLOBES ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR OUTDOOR USE! DO NOT BUY!
