Docking Station for Microsoft Surface(Pro 2017), Charging Stand Dock for Pro3 Pro4 Pro with Usb Ports 2.0 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet Port & Mini Displayport Black

Purchased in August and used this for some time but something was always off. After performance ground to a halt i see that it had a WRONG power supply, missing spacers and generally doesnt allow me to use my surface pro. Connectivity is off and it wasnt until i finally took it to Microsoft to see how messed up this unit it.

The outputs of this docking station are functionally identical to the Microsoft version sold for the SP3; however, my Surface Pro 2017 sits a little higher in its base grooves than the SP3 does in the SP3 dock to allow for the male power connector on it to correctly mate with the SP2017. This also allows the magnets on the keyboard cover to easily clear those base holders and attach firmly which isn't the case on the SP3 dock when using one of the newer improved keyboards. There might also be some mounting depth change/adjustment to the back of the dock because the SP2017 is slightly thinner than the SP3, but there is no need for the plastic adapter shim which was not included.Update: It is rare for the power connector to not correctly mate with the SP 2017. It helps to snap up the type cover magnets onto the screen before trying to close the side connectors. They seem to properly align the SP 2017 into the correct holder grooves. I suppose it helps if the magnets are strong like those on the type cover with fingerprint reader. My plain black type cover did not have as strong magnets.

On the plus side, it arrived quicker than I expected, but the "New Like Used" description is not even close. This is very used and appears worn, but the power supply (not OEM) looks new and the dock functions well. It works fine with my wife's Surface Pro 3. If appearance matters as much as function, you may be disappointed.

It worked for a couple weeks. Now it doesn't have a good connection and shorts out quite often. Whenever I have bumped the table the screen turns off. Maybe there is a warranty on it? Wish I could get it replaced.

Dock is a near perfect replica of the now discontinued Microsoft Surface Pro 3 dock. Highly recommend this dock instead of the wired "brick" dock currently sold for the Surface Pro. I use this dock for my Surface Pro 4 and my son uses it for his Surface Pro-New (5th gen). the 5th gen is a little thinner and leaves a little room at the back of the dock, but still works great.

This works great. I am able to have a total of three monitors (counting the tablet)

This is a Christmas gift so it can not be fully checked out until later.
