Same book, different cover
They changed the cover on the original book. I ordered this one and realized it was the same. Good book, but now I have 2 copies.

Interesting. Raises questions.
Interesting read and background into the life of one of the Navy's great SEALs. I do find a number of things interesting with regards to the bin Laden raid. Obviously I wasn't there, but I find some of O'Neils comments to be hard to believe. I also find major discrepancies with his commentary and that of Matt Bissonette. In some cases, I tend to believe the latter more than O'Neil who seems to be far too self aggrandizing. Small things, even such as whether the helos were "Chalk 1and 2" or "Dash 1 and 2." I also find it hard to believe the first SEAL "missed" upon firing at UBL. I guess we will never know for sure, for true SEAL warriors follow their ethos against self promotion and keep these things within teh TEAM. .

A Real Hero
This book is well written and makes one feel as if they were there with Rob O'Neill. Rob is a team player and a real HERO, not for being the one who pulled the trigger; As all Seals who go through this grueling training continuously and leave their families continuously, never knowing if they will see their families again. All Are Heroes! Thank you Rob for writing a book that puts us, the reader, along side you in many dangerous situations. You are my Hero and I Wish Many Blessings To You And Your Family!

Fantastic Read!
I read the reviews of this book and thought I would give it a try. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish and am impressed with the author as he could have easily cashed in on the events from this book a few months after he took part in the operation (trying not to give away the story) but instead he gave an account of his full time in service which ultimately led up to that important mission. The book highlights the highs and lows of what it was like to be a navy seal and the extreme training he went through in order to be the best operator he could be. The relationships that are formed and unfortunately lost along with the missions that he undertook are shared with us in remarkable detail make this book one of the most thrilling and gripping books I have read to date. I could not put this book down and found myself wanting to see what the next page had to offer!I can only highly recommend this book, If you are interested at all just read it because you will not be disappointed!10/10!Please click on the βYesβ button below if this review has been helpful thank you

The true costs of war.
I sat for a day with my thoughts after reading this , it hit me deeply. It starts out from Robert's childhood and we find out what shapes him even from an early age and the on going unwavering support , love and close bond he has with his dad. We're led through all of the rigorous training , showing how everyone struggles mentally and physically some more than others , we see here his grit and determination to see it through. From early training onwards we meet some of the men and dogs he will form a brotherhood with , he tells us about them and let's us get to know them . Some of his memories will make you laugh at their banter and practical jokes and some will make you cry like a baby at the sheer loss , desolation and the never healing hole in their chests and hearts. The phone call he shares with his dad before he goes on this mission broke my heart and also a catastrophic event at the end of the book. It portrays the hard selfless sacrifices these men and women and their families make for complete strangers every day so that we can live freely. At no point was this book arrogant or bragging, it was stoic and humble and told of everyone's part in this , all of the facets that came together to make it happen , he wasn't afraid to point out his flaws or admit his feelings. Some good photos at the end . I thank every allied service man and woman throughout the world , without you there would be no us. An excellent recount of events that will pull every emotion from you and stay with you long after you've read it. Thank you.

Interesting but.....
I enjoyed this book more than I expected to. Most of it is dedicated to SEAL training and is similar to other special forces macho stuff where you are abused to within an inch of your life to make a proper soldier out of you. That was ok but the last part with action in the Far East etc was better and really made you realise what those guys went through. However the actual "mission" referred to in the title was really skipped through....which is a shame because this is why people buy this book....to know how the most wanted man on Earth was hunted down and killed. Maybe the author was being modest but well done to him. A brave soldier.

Gripped from start to finish.
Once I had started to read this book, I was genuinely hooked and really looked forward to the next amount of free time I had to get back into the story. It drew me in page after page and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of reading it.The amount of respect I have for what these guys go through - just to be able to call themselves a SEAL - is immense. If you have any interest in what it takes to become one of the worlds best Special Forces Operators, and to be selected into one of their elite unit's - to what they have to go out and do so we are able to keep our hard earned freedoms, then this is definately one book you should own.An outstanding book about an outstanding person in my humble opinion.

Loved reading this. Surprisingly down to earth
I thought this book would be cool but that the author would be arrogant and the book filled with 'rah, rah America!' propaganda but I was very wrong. I'm not American and I wasn't put off by this book in any way.The author is refreshingly down to earth for somebody who was incredibly badass. The stories are incredible and the book very well written. I enjoyed reading it... Stayed up until 3am reading it one night and finished it in only a few days.
