Nice animal-themed card game for younger children
Priced at just under £11 at the time of this Amazon Vine review, this is a little pricey for a card game and I would prefer for it to be well under £10. Called it! is a Snap-type card game for all the family, although you not not matching cards but identifying the largest animals of the cards put down. It's also a game that is straightforward and easy to learn if you read the rules and you can keep them to hand for the first few games. There are 48 colourful cards that feel good quality and if they will last a while and a set of instructions in the cardboard box; the box itself is attractively decorated. The game is recommended for 5 years plus. I agree with other reviewers that this is probably suitable for younger primary school age children. You need between two to five players. It is good fun shouting out which animal is the largest as you play the game. This is particularly appealing to the younger players. There are also slam it! and flip it! cards to elevate the game.I am pleased with this product and am happy to recommend.

Okay but quickly becomes boring
My nephew loves animals so I thought he’d like this game but he didn’t quite grasp the rules, kept thinking he needed the whale to win and would swap his cards around. He quickly became bored and there was no interest since to play. A wider variety of animals would be better as it becomes very repetitive. The concept of a junior version of double was good in concept but in practice it’s too scaled back, doesn’t offer enough variety like the original and is on the expensive side because of that.

Great for littlies
Basic rules of the game are: -FLIP IT!If a player turns over a "Flip it!" card, players do not need to shout out the largest animal in that round. Instead, all players must flip over another round of cards. The player that flips over the biggest animal in this round, wins all the cards in the center!CALLED IT!If all the cards that are turned over are the same animal, players must shout "Called It!". The first player to shout this collects all the cards in the center.SLAM IT!If any player turn over a "Slam it!" card, players must race to slam their hands down on this card. The first player to slam this card, keeps all the cards! The last player must discard three of their cards in a separate discard pile.Easy enough game to learn and the kids enjoyed it, great for when you need a quick boredom busting game.

Good fun for little ones!
Really simple game that is easy for little ones to pick up and play. It's great fun for all the family too. It's especially a good one to have in the cupboard as a single game can be played really quickly. The fast paced nature of the game really had the children laughing. The theme of the game is definitely aimed at younger players and after playing a couple of rounds, the kids were happy to play this by themselves. We didn't get a "Called It", but knowing that was one of the options kept us playing. The game itself is well presented in a nice box with good quality cards. The box is not overly sized compared to the contents and I'm glad it's actually in a box, making it easier to store. The animal designs on the cards are nice and bold, making them instantly recognisable when playing. At the current price of £11.99, I think it's slightly expensive for what it is. I think the £7.99 mark would be ideal. I would definitely recommend this for kids around the target age of 5 years old.
