DIYHD 12FT Rolling Ladder Hardware Sliding Rail,Top Roller,Floor Wheel with Brake

I was a little bit leery after reading some other reviews. I read that it is difficult to install, the connectors fit too loosely and the hardware is junk. I had none of these problems. Maybe I'm just a bit more mechanically inclined than some. It was not difficult to install at all. The little plugs that are used to connect the extensions do fit loosely when they are not mounted to the bookcase, but once it's mounted, they're as sturdy as can be. I can hang my 200lb body on the spot where they connect and it doesn't budge. As far as the hardware is concerned... The screws are an M10. That's a pretty big screw. If you try to screw it directly into wood, there is a really high likelihood that you are going to strip the head or break it clean off (with an impact). It doesn't matter what brand of screw. Take the time to drill a pilot hole for each screw and it will work just fine. This installed like a breeze, looks great, and works perfectly. We are completely satisfied with it.

We built 2 sets of bookcases.So I bought the 20' length as one side is 12' and the other is 8'.Easy to install. The ladder does need a little bit of a push to go over the connections. One did arrive without a set of O rings but since we weren't using them as a whole we didn't need to use it, but IF we had I'd have been a bit more disappointed.Our original thought was one ladder and just move it from one side of the room to the other, but the way to remove it from the rail isn't possible for us. So one side has the rail just for looks at this point.The MR built the ladder himself. Now to just fill that second set of bookcases. These were my birthday gift.

This hardware package is very high quality, the steel is appropriate thickness and rollers are sealed bearings!The rail also was unexpectedly well made and solid.. I am often disappointed by kits like this, in that the pieces tend to be light duty for this price, but this kit was a great value?

Bought this a while back but it worked great. I built my own ladder for it and it was done out of 3/4 so the screws for the top bracket were too long but it was my fault not the product.

Overall the quality of this kit is great. It is very smooth and quiet running hardware. However, the reason i chose this kit over others was solely for the braking wheels. on the first locking and unlocking of the brake levers, they broke. These are the only cheap plastic parts in the kit. Its been 30 days so i cant return. I have been trying to reach customer service but the only available way to contact seems to be a bogus email. Customer service is everything. I would be happy to purchase several levers in case i need to keep teplacing them. How do i do that if nobody with communicate with me. I may be forced to order another caster set for 60$ from the same company. What happens when those break? Sooooo frustrating!!! Other than this issue the kit is good. Only other complaint would be where the pole sections connect. The connector is not tight enough and the poles move a bit as the ladder rolls across. Works ok but could be better. Good kit for the money. Just wish somebody would reach out

I have mixed feelings about this product. When I purchased this, I thought I read positive reviews. However, once I received it and went back into the item on Amazon, I only found negative reviews.Here is mine:First, the matte finish is beautiful. I like that it blends in with my cabinet. When I received it, I found it to be even more beautiful in person. However, once I began assembling it, I realized that the extensions make this very unstable. The rod needed to be carried by two people as it does not connect in a straight line. Second, not only is this unstable, but the screws are flimsy. They aren’t good quality screws. Third, once up on the bookshelf, the rail is stable. The flimsiness is no longer an issue. Fourth, the end caps to prevent the rolling ladder from sliding off the rail is too big and it does not hold or prevent the ladder from rolling off. Finally, screwing the wheels isn’t the easiest thing, but doable. I’m giving it 4 stars due to the lack of sturdiness when putting it together, missing and cheap screws, and rail stoppers that are too big. However, once it’s up, it’s beautiful. I’d repurchase, even with the cons.
