Waste of time and money. Concept is good, but failed to deliver as promised. Had to manually reset it every time is sprang.
First time I used it, caught a mouse. The trap never sprang back to the loaded position. Reset it the second time, with the same results. Bought two of them. I would highly recommend that you check other plank traps before you even consider purchasing this product. Works ok at catching them, but you have to reset it after each successful mouse catch. The main reason I bought it is so that I don't have to check it every day, and reset. Concept is a good one, but application is lacking/non-existent. Maybe other brands work better.

I love the concept of this trap
I love the concept of this trap. It is very simple and the cost is very reasonable. I have a couple issues with it. This doesn't fit on buckets that have a wide lip. I also saw small mice walking to the end of it and not falling in or larger mice sometimes could leap back. So the plank could be longer to allow for higher leverage with smaller mice. If you have many mice, this will catch a percentage of them. Having only one mouse I would go with a standard trap for next time.

Novel, but ineffective
Regular mouse traps work better. Its a novel way to eliminate mice, but not very effective. Caught 3 mice in about 2 months with this, but caught over a dozen with a regular mouse trap in the same amount of time in the same area.

Hasn't caught a single mouse yet
i thought this trap was a clever idea. i expected it to outperform the rotating pop can over a bucket of water. so far, some rodent (mouse or rat) has always managed to get the bait and walked away with it. never caught a single animal with it. There is a small metal disk and magnet on the right side of the hinge that keeps the board from flipping too soon as a rodent walks on it. When it didn't catch anything i thought the magnet was may be holding a bit too tight so i put masking tape over the metal disk. still nothing. another tape. still nothing. i have given up on it and would not buy it again. it's actually a quite small item and feels flimsy. i still think it's a great idea but the design needs some tweaking.

CATCHES A LOT OF..
RAIOLATRAP Plank Mouse Trap, Humane Bucket Rat, Auto Reset, No Drilling Required, Kill or Live Catch Mice and Other Pests This trap catches a lot of dust and debris over time.. no rats trapped or killed. Used with various size buckets from 10-50 gallon to test. If the ledge of the bucket you use is too thick, the rodent will use the rim to stretch itself onto the plank to get at the bait.I noticed the bait was licked at and mostly removed from, but no rats dead or alive inside the bucket half filled with water. I even put slippery oil in the water to make it more difficult for anything to get out of the bucket.. still nothing caught.Tested over a month period and checked every other day. I bought 2, but returned the unused one and kept the used one, which was a waste of money and time for me.We have roof and sewage rats in Northern California especially where food eateries and heavy construction sites reside.I would suggest this trap for mice. I used creamy and nutty peanut butter as bait.

Very good for mice!
Super simple, very effective. I may have mistaken this model for one that I thought had adjustable release tension but this caught mice first day it was set up. Not sure it will work on rats without the release adjustment.

Maybe the mice in my yard don't like creamy peanut butter
Still see mice running along back fence. Have not caught one mouse in over 4 weeks. Maybe the mice in my yard don't like creamy peanut butter...

Meh
Months later and it hasn't caught anything. EVER. Yes there is still rodents but it drops as soon as tiny rodent pressure is applied so they get off before they drop in the bucket.
