Not weatherproof, but company replaced
I installed the light outdoors, and even under an overhang it still got wet inside and now will only turn on briefly before staying off. You can clearly see there was even a large hole in the sealant on the power connector. I'm leaving two stars because it was great when it worked, just bad QA I guess.Update: I'm changing the review from 2 to 5 stars. The company reached out to apologize and make it right. It's unfortunate to have a unit fail, but having a company stand behind their product and spend the time to make it right is worth the extra stars. I will be purchasing more in the future!

Excellent Product--easy to install & setup, and works perfectly, but needs a power splitter
Item was well packed and complete with everything needed to install--EXCEPT a power-splitter cable. We have Swann security cameras around the house, but their IR spots are not powerful enough to light up the yard as much as we wanted. I put one of these on the back (see image 1) and one on each side aimed toward the rear. I could've run a power cable from an exterior socket, but instead I bought a 3-pack of power splitter cables from SIOCEN (on Amazon, search for: 3 Pack DC Power 1 Female to 2 Male 5.5mm x 2.1mm DC Power Supply Splitter Cable Cord, Y Splitter Adapter Wire,2 Way Y-Cable for Security CCTV Parking Camera, LED Strip Light.)With the splitters, I was able to mount each of the IR spots near an existing camera and only had to reconfigure the wiring. It took less than 2 hours to get all 3 installed and they absolutely do the job. Image 2 shows the night view from the camera in image 1. Images 3 & 4 show the views toward the rear of the house from the side cameras.Definitely worth the money and time.

Perfect for use with Oculus Quest VR
You Get what You Pay for(This product replaced my cheap made of plastic unit which started to burn out after a year.)Upon recieving unit I was amazed at the build quality.* Hefty weight* Dimensions approx. 4.5" X 3.5" depth approx. 3 1/8"* Glass front enclosure and sealed* Adjustable mounting bracket, for all your mounting needs (used camera tri-pod).*Power brick 12v1amp* Bright and large IR LEDSFor My UseThe only thing that made it better was using an old power supply with Integrated On/Off switch to accommodate my indoor only use. (12v 1amp) same as supplied with light. My ExperienceAmazed at the motion smoothness and in MHO: it made the Graphics, details and Colors Pop when using the Oculus ! Great for complete darkness and defused daylight gaming indoors.(Though a few Reviewers have complained about the Power brick being under powered, I've yet to experience any problems.)Well worth the purchase price and more than Satisfied.

Worked for a while, then died
This IR light worked well for about 9 months and then stopped working. The housing feels warm to the touch (so it appears to be getting power). To further test, I swapped it out with a known good power supply and it still did not work.

I don't get it - UPDATE 12-28-2023
This is the second time that I've tried these illuminators and again, it doesn't work. At all. The first time was with GW Security cameras a few years ago and this time with Empire Tech cameras (which are awesome) and still no difference in nighttime illumination whether or not this light is off or on.Now the Empire Tech cameras (as most others) use 850nm IR illuminators internally. So I purchased this external IR illuminator since this is 850nm as well. But it doesn't do anything...I don't get it. It was on since I could see the red IR LED's.I really wanted to get a 950 IR Illuminator since you (stealthily) can't see the red IR LED's when they are on, but from what I could learn they would not have worked on cameras that use 850nm. Ok, so what works? Oh and the first IR illuminator I used was different than this one, but still an 850nm. So what works? I give up. My solution? I added 5W landscape lights to almost every fencepost or garden area to bring light to my property and now my 8mp cameras are 4K color at night. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09YXKVWL9?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsUODATE!!!The company contacted me and offered a higher powered light, since they thought for my application the choice I made was underpowered. Boy, were they right! I got a 20w light shipped from them and plugged it in. I was shocked how bright it was. What a massive improvement. So I'm buying a second one now.I have two POE cameras that are in very dark locations and I do not want to light them up with standard lighting like I did in the front yard. What this means is that I have no power at either location, since the cameras are powered up from the Cat5 cable. These lights only need 12v, so I will set up a 60w transformer and run 14/2 wire inside the soffit to each camera, then have the transformer set to use the photocell to turn on and off automatically.Again, thanks to the company support team for stepping up and providing a 20w Illuminator for testing. Great customer support!

Good light. Cheap power supply.
Feels sturdy and well built. All steel. Good illumination for compact size. Bad: power supply is weak and died with only sporadic use over a couple years. Fortunately for me, I already had another power supply with higher amp rating (2.5 amps) and the light itself still works. Power supplies are relatively inexpensive, so this light should have been supplied with a better quality power supply. If you still choose to buy this light, I'd recommend getting a higher amperage rated standard tip 12V power supply. (or using one you already have) At least 2 amps.
