Grain Audio PWS.01 Packable Encased Bluetooth Wireless Speaker System with 8 Hour Rechargeable Battery (Walnut)

Sound good, but not great. As good (but no better) as a Bose Soundlink Mini. Looks much, much better though. Fits in with the decor in my dining room as it sits on an antique lawyers bookshelf and blends in really well.Battery lasts a long time. I only need to charge it every other week or so. We primarily use it to listen to music while in the kitchen or dining room. Takes forever to charge though.

Pros:Very good sound. In the ~ 60 minutes I've owned it so far I listened to Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Alison Krauss, The Doobie Brothers, Rob Zombie, The Chemical Brothers, Sarah Brightman and Lydia Pence with Cold Blood and I'm more than happy with the sound. I'm not one to describe an aural experience like wine writers whisper poetic over the latest bottling from Gerard Winery, The guitars are clear, AK's steady and the Blues, very much there.Cons: Over designed packaging. I am amazed that this Bluetooth portable speaker is just as good as everyone said it was! Its incredible that something this size has such great rich quality sound! The speaker has a very classic look with the use of Walnut wood which also makes the sound much better than other competitors! It's also got all the latest high tech Bluetooth features, 8 hour lithium ion rechargeable battery, and a aux stereo jack for direct conection! I reccomend this portable Bluetooth speaker to anyone! This is easily worth the 250 I paid for it!

Actually, the sound is very good - but not as good as I expected. I will keep the speaker though. Aesthetically pleasing and compact, it delivers on recorded music playback but again the speaker is not as rich in sound as expected. You decide.

I've been looking for a nice bluetooth speaker I could use for both work and home, the PWS was the perfect solution for me. I've tried a couple of other bluetooth speakers, the Bose Mini being the closest in class, and the sound quality was quite obvious when I compared the PWS to the mini; the sound was richer and less tinny on the PWS. The Mini is a good speaker, but the PWS is better. Very happy with the PWS and highly recommend it.

Compared to the Sony SRSX5, this speaker has very poor bass response. The low end barely comes out at all and it doesn't get nearly as loud.I conducted back to back A/B testing and the wood enclosure made very little difference in sound quality. Unfortunately I had to send it back.

I purchased this puppy in 2014 and loved it until I had an issue with the micro-usb port and its inability to charge. I called the company ten times and emailed them six times. They don't exist. No one wonder they were a give me money startup. Nice unit until you have a problem - then you have an expensive pretty brick! That's grain!!!

Much better sound that the Jambox that this replaced, and it's in a great-looking package. Yes, it's more costly, but it's almost more functional and more beautiful.
