It's a good looking design, and it can be made to function, but it isn't really usable as an everyday lighter.For one thing, if you try to flick it open like a Zippo, you'll most likely turn on the gas and send the flint striker unit flying out of the lighter. The flint striker wheel is on a short metal stub that appears to be held into the body of the lighter by the friction on an o-ring. You have to be mindful of that when using it.If you are going to try and use it, DO IT OUTSIDE. This lighter has a tendency to produce a large, unfocused flame if the gas is turned up. If the gas is turned all the way down, it won't light. So you'll have to experiment with the gas level, which means do it outside.If there was such a thing as a cigarette lighter for cosplay, this would be it.

It's solid metal, all parts of it. Nice construction and it works by lifting the lid (that's its gas release trigger) and a flint striker wheel. To turn it off just close the lid. I'm a fan of unique and interesting lighters and this is a good example

I like this lighter even as a SURVIVAL lighter because butane doesn't evaporate or leak like Lighter fluid. There's no electrical clicker to fail. If it gets wet you just put in a dry plant and it will light easily....
