HDDs that I have stay around 128MB/s in this enclosure. Its same as internal.SSDs, unfortunately the only spare I have can't saturate USB 3.1 speeds, so I can't test the max of the enclosure. This spare SSD only hits a max of 218MB/s which is the fault of the drive itself. The enclosure does at least that and I'm expecting it to at least reach 300MB/s. It will do more then 218MB/s for sure.Personally, coming from an enclosure with 5 screws, I love the screwless design. Screws make these things such a pain to swap drives. I'll take zero screws any day! But, you could just drill a hole in this thing then use a screw if you really want them lol.The thicker 3.5 drive won't move around in this thing. The thinner HDDs could but just don't drop it. The SSDs are light enough that it shouldn't be a problem. Still, just don't drop it. Even with screws, you wouldn't want to drop an enclosure anyway.Am happy with this enclosure.

I used several older cases with the power supply inside the case (AC to DC). Half of them "died" within a year (probably due to overheating). Most of the "heating" was sourced by the integrated power supply. Using an external supply, a better-fit box, and a faster SATA to USB chip make this enclosure an excellent choice.

Easy to use. Good transfer speeds stays cool.Only slight complaint, and loss of star, no way to secure drive in enclosure. My 2.5 ssd was easy to plug in and with care, did not come unplugged but only because I understood not to move or disturb the enclosure.. just a little bracket with slots or screw would make it much safer to sudden taps or movement. I am just not use to my drives being held in place by power and data connections alone.Other than that, love it.

This worked really well and has been very reliable. I will be buying another one soon.
