Worth an extra few bucks
I was on the fence, seeing DACs for near $10, but this won me over.Arrived as advertised, plugged everything in, and flipped to optical, it worked right away. High sound quality, dual output to the 3.5mm jack, and volume control should you need it (ie, if it’s going to speakers out of arm’s reach, turn them up and use the control on this to change volume. Otherwise, just max it out - no distortion or clipping or anything.Got mine for my xbox one x, setup was as simple as going to the audio settings and turning on the optical output, along with HDMI (even though it runs to a PC monitor, hence the need for this, that still seemed necessary to get it going). I’ve searched in vain for the one x’s sampling rate, I don’t think it’s 192 KHz, but at least I know this can handle everything. Mine runs to a mixing board, though you could certainly go directly to powered speakers or a sound system. I believe you can even do Dolby 5.1 and 7.1 through the optical, though I’d imagine if you can’t run the optical straight to a sound system , the analog conversion would reduce it to stereo regardless, so this is really for people without surround. My main deciding factor was that reviews for slightly cheaper DACs had one being replaced every other review.. I wanted it to work the first time. Seems like these tend to. Just be aware, it’s clear from the pics but you only get a micro USB cable to power it, you’ll need your own block or USB strip to power it. So much runs off USB power nowadays , I strongly recommend surge protectors with their own sets of USB outlets, for power-only connections like this, although USB-only strips that extend a PC’s total often include power-only ports as well. You can even power it from the xbox’s USB if you wanted, though that wouldn’t be my first choice.Overall: Well built, good looking, functions well, fair price, would recommend .

This is the one to get!
Excellent DAC product, exactly what I would have expected from Avantree. I used this converter to connect a pair of headphones to an older Sanyo flat screen TV that only provides audio output via a coaxial RCA digital audio interface. Using an RCA Y-splitter and a couple of RCA male-male patch cords from Amazon Basics, I was able to split the output of the TV between my sound bar and this DAC so that I don't have to disconnect one to use the other. The sound output was clear and crisp into my Audio-Technica ATH-M50x 32 ohm headphones, which I connected via the 3.5mm jack on the DAC. Volume control was a really nice plus, as the full output from my TV via the digital output was louder than I would like. The volume control on the DAC made it easy to dial down the sound level to the headphones to an enjoyable level. Bottom line, this product works very well for me and was extremely easy to install. However, I would suggest that Aventree make the product even better by using more readable colors with better contrast to label the on/off power switch and the coaxial/optical switch. The printing for these switches is small and I found the low-contrast color against the black plastic made it very hard to read, especially in subdued light. Other than that, this DAC is better than any of the other offerings I have tried, and I would highly recommend it. If I needed another one, I would not waste any time, I would just buy this DAC from Avantree. I'm looking forward to trying their Bluetooth 5.0 Oasis Plus products in the late summer once they start shipping, if they are anything like this DAC, they'll be awesome too.

Does Work For Bose Revolves To TV No Delay & crystal sound it high lvls!
Edit/Update 1-9-19I'm still unsure what causes the audio lost but it hasn't happen again since I said it has happen. I'm still testing it and thanks for the reply back from support!Edit/Update 1-7-19It has started losing audio sometimes in games but not yet when watching shows I'll keep everyone uptodate.Okay, so I wanted this to work for my TV that only had an optical cable and I did not really have money for a true soundbar. I got the revolve for christmas last year but I wasn't too interested in making it into a soundbar but I got the idea when I tried connecting it to bluetooth for games & movies but bluetooth is really messed up on the Bose revolve and they have a very bad delay unlike their headset QC35.Anyways, so I done my research but no one has ever tried what I have for some reason, but I'm here to tell you it works!!1.Buy a Bose Revolve or a Plus2.Buy a 3.5mm to 3.5mm3.Buy a really nice Optical cable to Optical.4.Plug the 3.5mm in the bose & audio converter5.plug the optical cable in the audio converter to the TV6.Set TV settings to PCM7.Turn Bose to AUX sound8.Enjoy a $300 soundbar and saving you lots of money until you can get a real one.Only pain I have is it'd be nice if had a remote so I could turn it up or down without getting up and having to do that, but other than that, No lag/delay in audio voice, great sound low or at Max, and being able to turn it down at all is a plus too! But 5*s if add a remote!
