microSHIFTAcolyte Light Action Right Trigger Shifter | 1x8 Speed | Acolyte Compatible Only

As a long time gravel and trail rider who’s built up a few bikes from scratch - I can say this kit is up there with the best from sram and shimano. Solid and dependable shifting action, nice build quality, easy to install and good looking. The overall drivetrain is not quite as slick as the pricier options - but it’s close and much better value. I’ll definitely recommend microshift from now on.

The Shifter has quality materials and quality control while made in Taiwan. The shifter quickly changes between gears even from the larger cassette sprocket like 46 tooth. The optical display helps to view where the derailleur is at. In combination with half hollow chain to assist with the shifting and the size of the shifter helps with space and and has no slip pad for shifting to the larger sprockets. The affordability of the group-set help keep the price of my restomod of a late 80s chromoly Specialized Rockhopper frame tamed. the larger 46 tooth and small 30 tooth chain-ring can get my bicycle over steep hill with relaxed effort.

Must have got a dud shifter. Everything on this along with all the acolyte group set seems fine, but this shifter will only shift through 7 clicks and not all 8 so have to forego a gear. Not sure if I'll try acolyte again.

This super short derailleur with its 8 speed shifter has to be best shifting and range capability for cassette for a small wheel bicycle with a spring clutch. My bicycle was 16' inch Citizen Tokyo a small folding bicycle with a rim size at 305mm smaller than Bromton's 349mm. With a limited 6 speed freewheel 14-28 i wanted more speed and torque but need to install a cassette but no derailleur could fit since the Citizen Tokyo came with a super small Shimano Tourney. When i saw that microSHIFT made a super short derailleur for 20 inch MTB target for kids i wondered could i get the parts to work on smaller rim? After aligning the derailleur since the frame was set for 6 speed freewheel 14-28 not a 8 speed cassette 11-32 range it worked. The new Acolyte action shifter has a crisper shifting sound when compare to the older version and when in tandem with the super short 8 speed with a clutch it shifts like dream. Now I could pedal over 20 mph with ease and have plenty of torque to climb hills.

I love the Acolyte groupset! Great shifting, easy to dial in, no skipping. What more can you ask for? Great shifter!
