RUGO R1 Drone/Camera/Utility LED Light, 700 Lumens

When they say "go anywhere" they mean it. This light comes with 3 different mounts to mount to your go pro, dslr camera, tripod or drone (or anything really). I was also happy to see that it charges by both regular plug-in and via usb. The tri-lens feature is pretty great and will be very useful for my photography or for my husband for a camp setup light and hunting (flood, area and spot light). I already have it charging so it's ready to use this weekend!

The overall spread of the light, and color temperature appears to lag behind the even spread of light demonstrated by various LumeCube products. The overall bulk of the item is also harder to store than competitor’s lights

The best part of this light is the variety of mounting options. Go-Pro, camera, tripod, whatever you want to connect this light to, there's an included attachment for that. The method of swapping these out is quick, and easy, and provides a solid mount. Unfortunately, these components feel very cheaply made; I don't have confidence that they'll last.The light itself works well, and it's easy to slide the lens to the different wide/normal/spotlight settings. The battery separates from the light to charge, which can be done with the standard micro USB that nearly every cell phone uses. The actual components, though, seem to be made of lower quality materials, (pot metal and a cheaper plastic). Perhaps I am being a bit picky, but for the asking price, I was expecting a top-shelf product.

This is a great video camera light. Very sturdy metal housing is heavy, but should last a long time. It comes with a variety of interchangeable mounts so you can use it with GoPro cameras, standard tripod mounts, or cameras with standard flash mounts. There are mounting points on the top and bottom of the light so you could mount the light to a tripod, then mount a GoPro on top of it. The light has various brightness settings so you can use it at different distances or with different camera settings. I love that it has different field of view settings: wide angle floodlight for closeups, midrange area light, and long distance spotlight that is good for up to 98 feet. The light beam is even across the whole area, not like a flashlight that is much brighter in the center. The kit comes with a nice soft carrying case as well as a wall charger. The charger uses a standard micro-USB cable, so you could also use your cell phone charger.My only complaint is that the GoPro adapters are all lightweight plastic and will eventually break if you use them a lot. The way the adapters mount to the camera is proprietary and I do not know how easy they will be to replace.

The RUGO is a solution to an issue you didn’t know you had. Need a daylight bright broad light source that can be narrowed down to a tightly focused stream? One that can be switched from 70 lumens to 700 lumens? Oh, and it should be rechargeable and rugged and submersible…see what I mean? The RUGO is a small LED lighting solution that is at home mounted on a camera or clipped to a drone. Using the provided, nearly universal GoPro mounts the RUGO unit can be attached to any of the dozens of straps and clips that are made for that system. The cold shoe mount is at home on top of your DSLR or on a light stand and using the ¼-20 threaded fastener, your imagination and some bolts means there is almost no limit to where this light can go.Mounting options aside, this is one solid unit. After taking a number of falls in regular use, the unit may be scratched but has never failed. The LED and the lens are set inside of protective edges that prevent both from hitting the ground in most falls. The electronics are sealed from the elements as well; not just sealed from rain or snow, the RUGO is submersible if that serves your needs.I keep finding new uses for the RUGO, combining its lighting capabilities with the plethora of mounting options and the fact that it’s impervious to the weather. You might be tempted to purchase a less expensive flashlight to light the same situations but the flexibility you’ll find with the RUGO makes it much better investment.

This go anywhere LED Light is brilliant, literally. It has 4 different levels of brightness, plus 3 different "focuses" for the lens, ie. spotlight or floodlight or wide.The construction feels top notch and high-quality. It feels like it was made to go with a Go Pro Hero Black edition.The rechargeable battery is great and smartly-designed. At first I thought, why would they put the charging port on the inside-edge of the battery, then I realized...because it is submersible! By putting the port on the inside, the whole unit stays waterproof. I love the fact that I don't have to go through a bunch of lithium batteries and can just snap the old power pack off and snap in a fresh pack. (Note: it only comes with one power pack and you'll need to buy extras separately)In the dimmest setting, the documentation says 6.5 hours of runtime per pack and the highest at 700 lumens is 1 hour.I have to say the light is extremely focused and brilliantly bright, in fact it seems brighter than what 700 lumens might be, since that's equivalent to a 60watt household bulb, but this is certainly bright.It comes with a fabric carrying case and 3-4 different adapters for various cameras, tripods, etc and pretty guaranteed to have a fitting for whichever device you are using this with.Very satisfied with this light and I really like I can use it practically everywhere with different devices (Camera, camping, drone, garage, tripods, etc)
