Technochanter - Electronic Bagpipe Practice Chanter by Fagerstrom

I've had the Fagerstrom electronic bagpipes for 7 years. This device is excellent for learning the fingering of new tunes and practicing old familiar ones. It is awesome for learning to play harmonies (2nds, 3rds, etc.). You can record yourself playing the primary melody, the practice the seconds while then recording plays!! Only drawback for me is that you can't effectively "bend" notes. Batteries last 9-10 hours. Easy to transport and great fro for practicing in public places. I can often memorize a new 2 or 3 part tune On a 5-hour transcon flight. Even though it is very expensive, I think it's worth the money. Highly recommend!

This is a must have for beginner pipers who cant get away from people or crowds to practice, if your a little self conscious about your playing this will fix all that ails you. The tone does sound electronic but you can get the feel for a real chanter easily with this and practice all the fingerings tunes and grace notes. It is unforgiving with cross notes which is actually a good thing so you don't develop bad habits when switching back to an actual practice chanter all in all worth the expense.
