Awesome transformation with Beyond Paint
Awesome paint. Totally transformed an old desk I thrifted. The color pewter has a blue undertone and is not a pure gray. It is exactly what I wanted. It applied evenly and leveled to a beautiful matte sheen. I used 1/2 a 32 oz. container on a small desk with 3 drawers.

This paint works wonders! Easy to use and covers wonderful. Used Simple Green to clean the buffet, let it dry and then started painting!!!!

Painted laminate wood cabinets and they look great!!
We have laminate wood cabinets in our kitchen that were in good shape but due for an updated look. We had never used or heard of Beyond Paint before, but after looking into what paints would work well for laminate wood, we came across Beyond Paint and decided to give it a try. We did not want to have to mess with sanding or priming. We did a good amount of online research about the paint before starting the job. Most of what we read said do not take shortcuts with this paint or it won’t work the way that it’s intended to. We followed the instructions to a tee and it came out great for us. We used Simple Green to clean all of the surfaces and let it dry for at least 24 hrs before painting. We took apart our door/drawer faces and shelves and painted them separately. After applying the first coat, we let it dry for at least a few hours before applying the second coat (2 coats was enough). If I recall correctly, the instructions say to give it ~5 days to set, and then 30 days to fully cure. We did wait the full 5 days before turning the door/drawer faces and shelves over to paint the other side, and we used the time in between to tackle the body of the cabinets.I will say that we thought this job would go a little faster than it did, but we also followed the instructions closely with the drying times so it ended up taking a little longer (we also work full time jobs, so this was an evenings and weekends job for us). On our last set of door/drawer faces, we got impatient and installed them back in before the 5 days had passed, and the paint did chip a little in that process. It was not very much or noticeable, so we were able to easily patch it up and it still looks great. This paint is very thick and a little goes a long way, but I would recommend purchasing more than you think you need. Based on the coverage recommendations, we bought 2 quart size, but should have just went with a gallon because we ended up needing to order more.It has been about 6 months and the paint has held up great so far. We have gotten many compliments and even some people have assumed it was a professional job! We keep the cabinets clean by wiping them with either a sponge or soft cloth. All in all I would definitely recommend this paint. It is a bit pricey, but it is so easy to apply and cuts out alot of extra steps. I would recommend following the instructions as they are written and buying the brushes and rollers that Beyond Paint says to use. If you are working with a grooved surface (like a cabinet door), I would also recommend watching a couple of videos on YouTube to see how people apply the paint with the brushes and rollers. It is easy to do, but I did find that the tips from the videos were useful and made the final dried look come out nice and smooth. And definitely don’t skip the recommended drying times!!!

So easy to use! Great finish.
I used Beyond Paint in the Linen color to freshen up my powder room. The vanity was in great shape but I wanted to lighten up the dark espresso gel stain color. This paint was so easy to use. I put in 3 coats, allowing it to fully dry between each coat. It’s only been two months but so far it has held up well.I did not have to sand, use a primer, or a protective top coat. I just cleaned the cabinet with Krud Kutter Paint Prep spray and started painting.

High odor and product not as expected based off of other reviews
I was very excited to re paint by bathroom cabinet with this product especially with the advertised skipping of priming and sanding. I watched many YouTube videos on how to properly apply/ prep prior to attempting using this at home… I am writing this review to help others because I noticed several faults with this product and wish I never used it to paint my cabinet.First off the odor is VERY STRONG. I did not see this in any other review or on any advertising videos for application on YouTube. Not only is it strong when paining, it lingers afterwards. I painted my cabinet 2 weeks ago, and as soon as you walk into my guest bathroom you can smell the product. Was not expecting this. I have lit multiple candles / have a reed diffuser and fan running to help, but minimal change. The product is advertised as “no stir”. This is false and my batch (ordered white) was completely separated when I opened it.Thickness/ texture- this paint is thicker than normal paints however it left an undesired texture and sheen on my cabinet. I used the correct brushes as recommended with this product and waited 3 hours in between coats. It is sticky to touch when fully dry (even 2 weeks out from when I painted)I painted my cabinet white and it was originally dark brown… it took me 5 coats for full coverage and did not adhere well, despite using de greaser as recommended.Overall, I would not recommend this product and the outcome was not what I was expecting. It looks like a cheap paint job (and it was based off the price point of this paint). This might work well on a stock cabinet without any paint at all on it, however I am disappointed with my result and now want to rip out my cabinet in my bathroom. Back to the drawing board. Don't skimp on painting cabinets yourself with this product and invest in the proper tools.

Surprisingly Easy and Effective
I was initially skeptical that this paint would actually work—it just seemed too good to be true. I wanted to refinish a small media console and a side table. My original plan was to sand everything down and stain the wood a different color. But as soon as I started on the side table, I regretted it. It was so much work to completely remove the old finish, and since I wanted a lighter look, I would have had to bleach the wood first.I quickly gave up on the sanding, bleaching, and staining process and decided to try this paint instead. I’m so glad I did! It turned out beautifully and was incredibly easy and quick to use. The coverage is excellent—even though the pieces were fairly dark, I only needed two coats. The paint dries quickly and has no noticeable odor, which was great since I had to do the project inside my apartment.A little also goes a long way. I was worried I’d need more once I saw the size of the quart, but I actually ended up with some leftover after finishing both pieces with two coats each.**Update: the paint chips very easily. I’m still happy with the results but I will need to do some touch-ups and probably get something else for a top coat to prevent chipping.
