Will this fit my 2003 electra glide?

Not sure of would look at the Memphis shades website to verify fitment by part number , it is a good windshield , works way better than the klockwerks windshield did for me

Where do you measure from for the height?

It would be from where the plastic windshield meets the faring to the top. When you go shorter you will get a face full of wind so don't go to short. I found that mine is in my line of sight now also.. SO short I can't see through it anymore.

Can you see through a dark smoke windshield

Dark smoke shield is transparent with tint so what can be observed is dependent on how much light there is at the moment. Tint always reduces light transmission and the darker the tint the more visibility is reduced. If you want to see through a windshield get a clear one. If you want a tinted shield install one that you can see the road over the top of the shield.
