You'll Be Disappointed
If you are former military or marine, you’ll get this.If you’re looking for nylon tricot running shorts that are fairly short, these will fill the need. If you are specifically looking for the “ranger panties” or “silkies” you remember from training, or another pair you had in your past …you will be disappointed. These are not the Soffe brand shorts you’re looking for, and it makes a real difference. The Rothco brand shorts are:- nice quality- good material- stitching appears well done- the fit is snug in odd places, but for the most part they are true to size. I am 6’01”, 178 pounds. I wear a 32-inch waist for a comfortably snug fit, a 33-inch waist is loose on me. Why I like Soffe brand shorts:- The material is always the quality you expect- They are sized perfectly for most- The liner is intentionally larger than you expect- The leg openings in the liner have a stretchy but comfortable elastic that prevent the goodies from making an impromptu appearance. The very reason ranger panties are the choice of the military, and still very popular in the gyms or for everyday working out or running is simple. Practically every guy will tell you that great ranger panties feel like you’re running with nothing on. The liners are designed to be loose to allow all your junk to flop, move and swing; but those liner leg elastics keep anything from flopping out. From lifting weights, to running, to whatever. They are comfortable! Nothing snug, no constant “adjustments”, nothing sweaty stuck to your skin - face it, this is what you’re buying these shorts for. Oh, and depending on your body - they look attractive in a way that isn’t obscene - given the appropriate venue. Why I dislike the Rothco brand shorts:- The inner liner is a little more snug than real ranger panties. Your goodies are going to be wrapped a little tighter.- The leg openings in the liner are not snug at all, in fact I wasn’t even sure there was elastic around them.If you wear these the way you probably want to, you’re going to have some of your junk slide out thanks to the poor (or non-existent) elastic around the liner leg openings. This will happen quicker than you think because the liner is not sized the way Soffe shorts are.I want to be fair in this review. The Rothco brand shorts are high quality, nice material, and a nice finish with the stitching. If you want nylon tricot running shorts, they will likely fit perfectly and look good. If you want real ranger panties because you remember how freaking comfortable they were (are) for working out …then I would suggest skipping the fashion of Rothco shorts and going right for the function of the real thing - it’s probably what you were looking for anyway.I hope this review provided someone a little help in making their choice.

Material isn’t what it used to be
I can’t figure out what’s going on with these. Way back I used to get the exact same brand and it was as though they used some miracle cloth to make them. They would shrink up and turn into this really nice cotton type feel that would get really soft and sculpt the body real nice. Nowadays the last 81037 pairs of these I have ordered are forever nylon shine material and fit all loose and stupid. I want the old material back or info on where to find the old material.I tried ordering all shades of O.D. green in all packaging hoping that maybe I was purchasing the “USMC special” but I’ve had no luck. The future looks dismal and unfulfilling and shiny and nylon. Also, the light green color is completely transparent and everyone can see what’s going on.

Comfortable fit, and liner helps keep things hidden when doing crunches and pushups
I'm a 5'6", 135lb female, and I ordered the large, which fits me comfortably even though I wear my pants low on my hips. Not too tight, not too loose. No drawstring, so you definitely want to get the right size for you because the fit will rely on the elastic waistband. I have average thigh width and I still have plenty of space around each to breathe without being too roomy. I ordered the olive drab color, and it's true olive drab, as can be expected from Rothco. Washing instructions are easy, just wash cold and tumble dry low.Solid quality. These are very soft. The liner does tend to ride up, but it hugs the legs so if you're on the ground, nobody can see up your shorts. Good for PT or regular workouts, and they'll fit under pants without taking up hardly any extra space. They definitely end up a lot shorter when sitting down, if you're self conscious about something like that. I don't mind it, so these shorts get 5 stars from me.

love these things
First off I'm old school and absolutely can't stand shorts down to my knees. Also this evaluation is after owning them since last summer. I bought a pair and yes they are short by todays standards but are oh so comfortable. The liner is not too constricting nor loose. The color is as advertised and has not faded after numerous washings. No fraying, rips or any other problem. This is after wearing them almost daily after work and certainly on the weekend. If your not used to shorter shorts you may feel a bit self -conscious at first but I assure you you won't care after experiencing how comfortable and light they are. They are not see through as some have suggested but it might seem that way. The only drawback, and it's minor to me, is there is no back pocket. I guess my strongest review of these shorts is that I ended up buying three more pair shortly after the first.

Sizing guide is inaccurate, poor customer service
Completely unsatisfied with this seller and do not recommend patronizing them. Sizing guide is not accurate, and when you return the merchandise because of that, the seller imposes huge shipping charge. Amazon had to step in to make the matter right.

The dude equivalent to clevage and will cause collateral damage bec you’ll get everyone in sight!
Manscape those legs and show them off to your neighbors and public. I like to mow my yard in my ranger panties to irritate my neighbors and drive the gals wild!I own 7 of pairs of ranger panties and wear em as undies. This allows me to do a couple of things: Be amphibious at all times and swim, drive the ladies wild, irritate/drive dudes wild, PT ready anytime/mutual combat and just look cool..

Not the ranger panties I remember
Maybe they've changed in general, but these are nothing like the old-school ranger panties. These are just extremely thin running shorts. Not bad for comfort, but not what you're looking for if you want the traditional soffe silkies that always seem to be out of stock.

These are terrible
I will never buy this brand again. These underwear were expensive and a waste of my money. My husband wears a size 30 waist, according to the size chart, medium should have been the right fit for him... they are too small with no room for movement in these shorts, they have zero elastic stretch in the waistline so if we sized up, the would just fall right off.

These were the worst quality and it is for the garbage
I was shocked to see not only the quality of this item but the fact that they were so tiny. They are unwearable. The fabric is not what I had expected but some cheap cloth. These were the worst quality and it is for the garbage. Never again will I order!
