Smart Water Monitor – Wi-Fi Leak Detector, Real-Time Alerts, Water Usage Insights, User-Friendly Setup

This works great. We have piping that is prone to leaks so this will help let me know if I need to get home. It was a bit of a pain to connect to my old wifi router but that might have just been an indication that the router was going south. I have a new mesh network and it connected to it on the first try.

I tested & it needs 0.5 gpm minimum to show flow. I later found out that’s the declared specs when used with copper pipe (0.25 gpm with other pipe types). So it’s useless for detecting small leaks in copper pipes. I had to move it several times before it would detect my pipe. Also needed to reset twice & recalibrate 5 times. Free app is lame: hourly readings are only available for the current day unless you subscribe & no by the minute data even if you do. But the free app does give you the total current week/month/year readings. Only push alerts - text & email alerts are paid features. Readings are accurate when compared to utility digital meter. This went on the house line - I have another brand that wraps around the meter to get global readings from house, outbulding, & irrigation system. That brand has superior leak detection & app features. Still, it’s useful to have a dedicated monitor on the home line. High quality & good connectivity.

The product is very easy to install and set up. I attached it to my water main so I can detect a leak anywhere in our 2nd home when we're not there. One VERY annoying thing is I went to set it up to notify me if there's a leak, and you can only get push notifications. If you want text or email notifications, you have to upgrade the service and that is $6/month. $6/month just for text notifications for a water main leak? Wow. Had I known this, I would have looked for another product. Ridiculous up charge for a very basic function.

Generally, the water monitor has worked well. There was a small issue when Android was updated in January 2022; the current flow rate quit showing, but the monitor continued to save hour/day/month flow data.One important thing to note. The monitor WILL NOT WORK without an internet connection. This needs to be upgraded so that the monitor will continue to record data if the internet connection is lost. All data during an internet interruption will be lost.
