Takes practice but works
I really wanted to try this for making doll clothes. I practiced a few times to try to figure it out. It will be different for everyone because you can change how much it gathers by lengthening the running stitch and you need to get proficient at running the flat material into and through the groove it must run through while sewing. I would practice on a piece of material each time to make sure that the gathering ratio with the running stitch you are using is correct.

Great attachment for easy ruffles!
This was a little difficult to figure out how to use, but I found a simple tutorial online and it ended up working very well!!! Very pleased. Using it to make many ruffles for my prom dress.
