JB Industries DV-4E Eliminator 4 CFM Vacuum Pump

Can't go wrong with a JB!!

Unfortunately Amazon wouldn't let me leave seller feedback because they handled everything great.I'm an appliance tech and a former HVAC student, my understanding was JB makes excellent vacuum pumps. I bought this model in June 2022 after a cheap one I bought off amazon died after just 1 real use.I was expecting better results from this one.For starters i paid a high price to have this one rush shipped because i needed it in a hurry. Right out of the box the cord was frayed and not safely usable.I immediately complained to the seller where the seller issued a return authorization and issued a shipping refund.i decided to keep it and just throw a cord on i had laying around.roughly 3-6 months later I began having more severe issues getting into a deep vacuum. The pump would take almost an hour to pump down a small system. The pump not only was slow but would take forever to drop and hold below 800 microns IF IT EVER WOULD AT ALL!!!.I've used different micron gauges, changed the oil, finally i isolated the pump from everything except a micron gauge and same thing.Finally i just recently filed a warranty claim with the seller where i was told they didn't have any in stock and would issue a refund. Needless to say i would stay away from the Eliminator series from JB.

Ordered this on "Prime"....took a week to get here, but it was worth the wait after firing it up. I got this to use with a vacuum chamber for wood stabilizing. Added the oil and hooked up to the chamber. Within a couple minutes I had drawn a vacuum that pegged the guage at more than 30 inches of vacuum. This pump is strong and very heavy made. It has a good strong sound and feels like it is going to last a lifetime with proper care. I spent more to get this pump versus a cheap inport and I am very glad I did. This thing can be easily rebuilt in case of a problem and has a 2 yr warranty...this pump would probably outlast several import units, so I feel its money well spent.
