Cute
The book is really cool and my daughter likes it. I wish they would have the story as well and not just pictures.

Truly Baby-Proof!
I have to give my son a 'decoy book' every night when we read stories since he's constantly trying to eat the book I'm reading. When I heard about these, I was doubtful, so I got one from the library. My son loved it SO much, and it lived up to the hype so well that I went ahead and purchased this one, which is full of colorful and trippy candy scenes. While it's not _easy_ to wash, it certainly is washable. Since there are pages, I can't stick it in the dishwasher, but I might try it in the washing machine with a load of laundry next time I clean it. It feels like it's made out of those un-rippable tags you find on your pillows and mattresses. You know, the ones that are a giant headache to rip off so you end up destroying the seam of your mattress while they stay perfectly intact. So far my son has played tug-o-war with it, chewed it, attempted to saturate it with drool, ripped at it, you name it, and it's held together perfectly. It's gotten a bit wrinkly but that just adds to the charm. In addition to the above-mentioned attributes, the book is also super thin, which makes it fantastic to roll up and slip into a diaper bag. It travels well and is so cheap we have no problem getting multiple for around the house and the car.

No words!
The illustrations in this book are really very cool. They have absolutely nothing to do with Frรจre Jacques, but they are cool. My biggest beef with this book is that the words are all printed on the back! Could this have to do with the fact that the only "morning bells" featured are in a chocolate/candy Nรดtre Dame cathedral? Very strange. So there really is no "reading" this book to your child. My baby loves me to sing it to her, but the book is useless except for her to just study it.That being said, the "indestructibles" part of the book is very cool. I can let her play with it and chew on it and do whatever she wants without worrying that she's either going to destroy it completely or swallow a mouthful of paper. I want to look into the other Indestructibles books and see if any of them have actual words printed inside the book, in which case I will be thrilled out of my mind to buy them. Just not all that impressed with this one, overall.

Great for my little book biter (a short & to the point review)
(For those of you who are like me and like a short and to the point review. If you are looking for lengthy details, alas that is not me :)BRIEF OVERVIEW:After my baby (who LOVES books) started sinking her new little teeth into her books I started the hunt for books that I wouldn't have to stress about her having as her afternoon snack. This is a wonderful book, bright pictures (although no words - which is fine the books with words I read to her and don't have to worry about her eating while I am around), and most importantly this book lives up to it's name, she has not destroyed it as of yet.WHO IS THIS BOOK FOR:Little ones like mine who love books and love to eat them just as much as read then.THE BOTTOM LINE:Would I recommend this book? YES!PS check out my other reviews. I'm a picky first time mom that has spent a lot of time and energy (and $$$) researching and buying some great (and some not so great) products for my little love.

We love the "Indestrictibles" books
We love the "Indestrictibles" books! They are the perfect "quiet" toy for when you're at an event and want to entertain baby without squeaks, jingles, and crinkles. (This is our main toy to play with during church.) You can wash the book in the washing machine or the dishwasher. We have three of these books, have had them for a few months, and have washed them several times. The pages DO get wrinkly with use, but that also adds a soft texture, and my baby seems to like the well-loved pages best. This is a great baby shower gift (especially for this cheap price, then paired with a "boring" gift like diapers). "Free Jacques" is whimsical and perfect for the baby with francophile parents!

Great for road trips
I bought this book to occupy son on a recent road trip and it worked great (I also bought two other titles by the same publisher). This book is indestructible--that's been proven by my toddler who loves to tear stuff apart. The pictures are interesting for little ones to look at. I didn't realize when I ordered the book that it didn't have words, just illustrations. I would just sing the song to my son as we looked at the book together if I could remember the lyrics! Lol.

No words...
This book is in fact "indestructible" BUT I assumed the words to "Frere Jacques" would be printed inside, as is typical of books...., but they are not. The song is printed on the back cover only. The book is really just a picture book. My 8 month old doesn't really care, but it would be nice if it read like a book, too.

Indestructible are great- this title not one of the better ones
I love the indestructible book but this particular title was not one of my favorites. It is very pink and very sweets related. The story of Frere Jacques to me as always about a monk- this one is about a parisian baker via the pictures (the book does not have words). I would recommend the baby peekaboo book over this one hands down. In general, the indestructible books hold up extremely well- I had no problems out of 8 months of use. They are slim and easily foldable to fit in your diaper bag or take on the road with you. My child spend hours with one of these books. Well worth the money!

Great idea!
If you have trouble keeping your little tots hands off paper and magazines that are lying around the house, then these books are ideal. There were squeals of excitement from my little girl when she first started to handle to paper. And I'm relieved to not have to fish out chewed balls of paper from her mouth!!

Great - but no words
The on,y complaint is there are no actual words in these books, the pictures are fun, but I like to be able to read him a story even though he's just focused on eating the book.
