Wise Wealth

It is a book for the times!
I for one was astounded that a book that chronicles the worldview of India’s super-wealthy talks of socialism and capitalism in the same breath.‘Wise Wealth’ is a page-turner that establishes rather effortlessly that socialism vs capitalism is a false dichotomy. It frees the reader from the binary choice that one is often forced to make between the two ideologies. Instead, it embraces the best of both worlds. It argues for the Gandhian philosophy of trusteeship, for all the right reasons. It’s far from the granddaddy of motivational literature that I expected it to be. It talks less about wealth creation and more about wealth distribution. As somebody working in the FinTech space, I have written much about credit, its history, and how it’s the pillar of growth. After having read the book, I am not so convinced about the primacy of the loan contract. Here’s why.Right on page three, it talks about the polarity between how capital is moved in the rich world vs the rest of the world. Large enterprises raise capital via equity, where the investor shares both prosperity and adversity. But the rest of the world is financed via loans, where the entire uncertainty rests on the borrower or producer, while the lender enjoys fixed returns for little risk.Is it not time for the world to show a little more faith in the entrepreneurial abilities of the rest 99%?‘Wise Wealth’ raises several such pertinent questions and advocates disruptive ideas such as micro-equity, intrapreneurship, co-benefiting models aimed at profitability & sustainability, and more. The book portrays the hitherto unseen side of wealth that’s right here in India. I suppose it was in the dark for this long, as it’s less sensational to inquire into the workings of capital that generates social value.‘Wise Wealth’ will be remembered as the book that championed a humane view of wealth creation at a time when it was fashionable to celebrate ‘leaders’ who splurged VC money; at a time when it was reasonable to throw good money after bad; at a time when heroes were made out of men who conjured up ‘unicorns’ from imaginary numbers. It is a book for the times!

Repository of best-practices for business leaders to build and manage Wise Wealth
‘Wise Wealth’ by Rajmohan Krishnan is an excellent book that recounts the personal experiences and insights of 35 leading top business leaders who represent the emerging breed of ‘Wisely Wealthy’. They have demonstrated how to create wealth and simultaneously transform businesses into globally competitive, ethical, humane organizations, without resorting to exploitation of scarcity or gaming the system, as was the case earlier to economic reforms in 1991.It showcases the elusive middle path of pursuing wealth creation along with values and ethics, through the actual experiences and insights of iconic leaders who have become role-models by virtue of their stupendous business success achieved by participating in this economic transformation of India, and also by influencing and leading the change.‘Wise Wealth’ is a timely read in 2022, as India is moving to the next chapter of its growth story, at a time when two global mega-trends are taking place - (a) Industry 4.0 and (b) the Sustainability Revolution. Wise Wealth, provides a repository of best-practices for all players - entrepreneurs, mentors, business tycoons, philanthropists - with regard to creation, deployment, management of enterprise and wealth. Poorly written book
I read around more than half portion of the book but couldn’t continue further, no correlation between ideas/content . No continuity . Too poorly written . No proof reading.
