I have to say I am very impressed with the quality of this backup camera. I just installed it myself and it only took me about 5 minutes because I just had to replace my old one so all the wires were already in place. I wish I had taken a before and after pic so you could see the difference. I had the full license plate one before I bought this one. I looked at every backup camera on Amazon and decided to go with this one based on some of the reviews and I'm glad I went ahead and got this one. So if you're still searching this is the one you should get trust me. They had to drill a huge hole in my car for my old one but this one is really small.

This is the third backup camera I have purchased from Amazon. The first one was very cheep and only lasted one month. The second one was a bit more expensive but lasted a few months. This one was the most expensive one i have tried but has lasted almost a year and still working fine. It does tend to get in the way when loading from the back of the vehicle. It has been bent out of shape several times but is easily bent back. It could have a stronger mounting plate.

The camera is good and does what its job well, the night vision is also good, however please be informed this is an IR camera and will capture the IR light range also, this wont filter the IR light during day time even in bright ambient light, this means you will see the colours differently than the naked eye, especially all the trees appears to be in monochrome ( as trees emit more IR light), being that said this camera is perfectly ok to be used as rear view camera for cars as the colour are least important than the night vision.

Had to replace another camera I had recently installed with this one so it would fit over the license plate without obstructing the plate due to Florida state laws. Camera works fine and the mounting bracket fit perfectly. The backup lights on the camera work well at night. However the color display in the camera is nominal whether at night or during daylight and not nearly as good as the previous camera I had installed . Hard to tell where the pavement ends and the grass begins because the color is so poor in this one. I may try to figure out a way out to attach the previous camera to the license plate bracket that this camera comes with. The previous camera that had excellent coloring was GERI HD CCD Waterproof Car Rear View Backup Reversing Camera With LED Night Vision.

So far, so good with this. The feature I most wanted was that this uses IR LEDs on the back instead of super-bright white ones. I didn't want white ones on whenever the camera was on. The IR bulbs are barely visible at night and don't even come on during the day. During the day, the camera works fine in normal color without them, and during the night, it uses the IR bulbs to illuminate the night-vision-style of near-IR imaging.

I purchased two of these. The video image is just satisfactory. Colors have unnatural purple most of the time, just not as sharp or crisp as I see on most cars. My favorite feature is how it mounts cleanly behind license plate. I guess I will keep using the cameras since my return window is over, but overall I am not happy with them and expect to buy replacements in the future.

Camera does not work. I have everything hooked up correctly and checked with a meter. The parking guidelines show up, but no picture.The small red wire routed with the video cable is a joke. The ends are so small and brittle that you cannot use wire strippers on them. They are also so short that most applications would need a jumper. This junk is going in the garbage.

I like that it fits well under the license plate and the supplied cables were plenty long enough for my X-Cab full size truck. Better instructions would have been nice, no explanation of the purpose for the “red” wire in the video rca cable and instructions need to be larger and easier to read
