Emerson SmartSet Alarm Clock Radio with AM/FM Radio, Dimmer, Sleep Time and .9” White LED Display, ER100101

This is a very annoying alarm clock! I bought it to replace my radio alarm so that I can be woken up with soft music before my secondary beeper alarm buzzes.Cons: -This alarm has a radio, but no matter how soft I set it before hand, despite following the instructions, it turns on at the "middle" volume which is really loud, defeating my whole purpose of having a radio alarm.-The instructions are lousy and overly complicated.-All of the buttons are on the top of the alarm, next to each other, and feel the same. The snooze button and the off button SHOULD be really far apart so you don't accidentally hit the wrong one when half asleep.-The white display is BRIGHT. It has 2 settings- blinding and too bright. I bought a dollar store purple plastic folder and had to cut 4 layers of it and stack them to tape over the display to make it tolerable even on the lower setting.-It has an auto-set time feature, just a battery that should remember the time when the power goes out. It can't remember the alarms or radio settings. It lost power briefly last night and decided to re-set itself to a completely random time. Unplugging it to re-start it did not help, it kept setting itself to that incorrect time.I should have returned this right away but would have had to pay return shipping, so I waited, and now am stuck loosing ALL of my $ since it doesn't even remember the time like it should.

Had hopes for this clock, but its programming is messed up. I set it for days 1-5, which per the instructions means the alarm will go off during the weekdays. But, it actually goes off Sunday thru Thursday instead. You have to set it for days 6 -7 for it to go off on Fridays, but then it will also go off on Saturdays.I've found no way to just cancel the alarm for a day. Shopping for an alarm clock these days is ridiculous as manufacturers try to incorporate too many features that don't function properly.

I typically don't write reviews for products, but this product made me so infuriated I had to.The "Smart" set feature on my clock keeps changing the date and time, so that no matter how many times I manually reset it back to the proper date and time, it always changes the time to a completely wrong time within 24 hours of resetting it.Other things that are terrible about this product:1. The alarm is incredibly annoying and loud (which might have helped some people actually, if the time on the clock wasn't so messed up)2. The lights are way too bright and unadjustable3. Adjusting the time and whatnot takes too long as the speed at which the numbers change does not increase the longer you hold it, as most other interfaces do.

This is a BRIGHT alarm clock! I don’t mean smart, or clever, or even thoughtful. I mean the numbers are so illuminated that aircraft uses them as a waypoint market. The Space Station uses it to tell whenever they’re over my house. Stevie Wonder can see these numbers. Yes, you can turn them down - there are three settings of brightness. I know that. Even on the lowest setting I didn’t need to turn on any lights in the house at night. On the highest setting, it’s like welding without a helmet over your eyes. My retinas may never fully recover, but the features and ease of use this clock offers makes that all worth it.

I originally ordered one that re-sets itself after a power outage. That happens a lot in our area, unfortunately. I was getting so tired of running around the house and resetting all the clocks after losing power AGAIN for the umpteenth time. I came across an Emerson SmartSetclock on Amazon that automatically resets itself and had to try it. Loved it! Comes back on to the right time, each time. Went back through my saved orders to order another one. This was not it. Its okay, works fine, but just not what I thought I was ordering and too late to send it back. I have not figured out how to get this one to automatically set, and the other one does it just fine. Made a 3rd order and finally got the one I meant to order.

Just plugged in my alarm clock and it auto set to the right day and time. My last alarm clock I spent years trying to figure out with its numerous buttons bells and whistles. Now I have something simple and easy to use which is the point of an alarm clock. I foresee many years of use from this alarm clock.

A well designed product combining all most important features:- Super easy to set up out of the box. The only adjustment needed was the time zone (not needed of you live in Eastern Time zone)- Pleasant, white light color with dimmer- Small lithium battery backup for the settings.- Working radio (audio quality limited by the tiny speaker)- Price under $20 including shipping and no tax.- Unbelievably, made in the USA!

Absolutely the worst clock ever! If you want a clock to tell the correct time consistently, this ain’t for you. The time seems to change on its own, even if it hasn’t been unplugged. I reset the clock to read the same as my other clocks (that don’t have a mind of their own and stick to match the time of the rest of my time zone) and when I got home tonight around 6pm, the clock magically had changed time and read 1:02am. Either the clock is a piece of junk or my cat is Einstein smart and changes the clock to mess with me.If you prefer to scan through every radio channel each time you press the cheap, loudly clicks with every push buttons, this ain’t the radio for you.It automatically goes back to the default channel every time you turn it back on (which is static where I live). This does not have a memory of your last channel preference like most modern clock radios do.I would throw this out but I don’t want to buy another one...it is for my cat...soooo I’m sucking it up! I would not recommend this to anyone who wants it for normal use. Heck, I wouldn’t recommend this clock even if it’s to use as background noise for your pet rock while you’re at work all day.

Hard to set alarms...very tricky....and now it makes up its own time!!

I purchased this as a replacement alarm clock for my father, who likes to fall asleep listening to AM radio (I know... he's old).

Wasn't a bad buy really good.

Whoever wrote the instructions for this item was out to lunch. Preset function is stuck on wakens everyone at 7 am whether they want it or not.

The AC not very clear. Too many buttons to press. Numbers too bright

Like everyone else, I had the old version of this clock, and loved it. The sound quality on this version is terrible. The radio did not work properly either.

The only feature of this clock that is useful is that it sets itself. Otherwise, the LED lights are so bright that you may as well sleep next to a lighthouse.
