SpiroPure sediment filters are made by a certified facility in China. Most high end brand sediment filters are made in China, including Culligan and Pentek.

We do not list a flow rate on our sediment cartridge filters, as it is not possible to give an accurate number for a flow rate. When a company lists the flow rate of their sediment cartridges it is actually only an estimate that is based upon “clean” cartridge performance. In other words, it is based upon a cartridge that has not filtered any contaminants. This is because everyone will have different types and amounts of contaminants in their own water that is impossible to predict and test in a lab environment. As a cartridge traps sediment particles, the flow rate will begin to decrease. In general, the larger the cartridge and its surface area and the larger the micron rating, the larger the flow rate will be. Instead of a flow rate, we can offer information about the initial pressure drop. For SP-S1, it has an initial pressure drop of <1 psi at a flow rate of 10 gpm. Initial pressure drop, or differential pressure, measures the difference between the water pressure coming into the filter versus the water pressure coming out of the filter. A low differential pressure means the filter is offering little resistance to water flow, meaning it doesn’t have as great of an effect on the flow rate.
