As a retired reading teacher who used the homemade PVC pipe telephone tubes, it's an excellent tool for toddlers learning new words and beginning readers. My 2 year old grandson was startled hearing his voice but now he loves using it at story time and during his normal day of play talking to his toys. The child hears his pronunciations and you can repeat the words correctly giving him immediate feedback. It's important so you aren't trying to reteach it later. Like any device or toy it's important for adults to participate. I used it years ago when one of my children required speech therapy at the age of 5.

The students like these. They seem sturdy enough. Based on other reviews I've told them to be careful because they may break if dropped.
