A Game Changer
Just unpacked this 10K unit yesterday and it was in pristine condition. I was daunted at first because my bedroom window was too narrow to install the window exhaust kit as is without blocking the vent port. I would have to cut the plastic slider to fit, as well as cut a piece of wood to lift the slider kit 1 1/2" from the window bottom. Oh well... Hmmm... but then I went into Rube Goldberg mode and checked the packaging for anything that I could use in the interim to mount the exhaust. Lo and behold! The 4 corner angled packing braces were 1 1/2" high. I cut 2 of them to fit the bottom and taped them to create a 1 1/2" solid square tube which enabled me to prop the window kit. Then I cut one of the cardboard box flaps to fit into the main slot channel to close the remaining gap in the window, removed the slider and used the makeshift cardboard slider, which did the trick. Assembly continued and the unit was prepped and ready to roll. I checked the drain plugs, adjusted the flaps, turned it on, fiddled with the fan speeds and temp and it blew cold air immediately. I set the temp to 66 deg F and jumped into bed to test the flow. Seemed good enough as I decompressed. After tidying up the area I turned in for the night to a cold room and woke up to the same. This is a game changer because I generally wake up in a sweat. The room is 180 sf and the unit cooled it quite nicely. This morning I set the temp to 72 deg F and the unit went into a standby of sorts. I suppose it will kick back on when we get to temp, but we shall see. The noise level was manageable with the low fan with the unit 13 ft away from my ears. The remote did what it was supposed to do.If I had a wish list, I would prefer a second slider in the kit that would fit a narrower window. The airflow height is 24 in which was concerning at first, but it did properly cool the room with the help of a ceiling fan.Final thoughts: If this unit continues to perform for the duration as well as it did on its maiden voyage, then it's definitely a game changer for me.

BTU over rated
Unit is very quiet. Light weight & easy to move. Controls & setup are great. You will need to insulate the exhast hose as it gets hot.AC air out is around 42F, Exhast air out is 142F. See photos. My unit could only cool a 200 sq ft room. Could not cool my 400 sq ft room.I got this as an emergency AC but will have to send it back & buy a much bigger unit for my needs. Was hoping this would work for me but it does not have the power to cool my room. It's a great unit for cooling small areas & the price is well worth it for rooms 200 sq ft or smaller.

Saved us during the summer heat wave.
We have central air, but once the temps hit over 103, the HVAC struggles to keep up. I saw this on sale on Amazon, and decided to try it.Outstanding little unit. Placed in our home office, which is 144 sq ft, it dropped the temp down from 88 to 75 within 20 minutes. Furthermore, once I bought a second unit for the other side of the house, they helped the HVAC catch up for the entire interior. You will have to run the exhaust hose out a window or (as I did with the second one) up a chimney, but the kit is simple to assemble. It's not super noisy on low fan, and even on high, the noise is manageable - especially as a trade-off for cooler air. Both units ran entirely nonstop from August 12 to September 15th. No drain hose was necessary in that time. I tested it on one just to see, and it definitely worked to dehumidify the office - however, it also had an output of about a gallon every 4-6 hours, so we had to keep an eye on the bucket. The water was tested, using some aquarium strips, and appeared to be pure, so I ran it through a Brita and drank some. In the event of a disaster, in a humid place like Texas, this machine could be used with a generator or power bank to harvest potable water from THE AIR. Cool!Overall, these were worth every penny. Hoping to get some years of use out of them.

BUYERS BEWARE
I purchased this for our camper. It came in fast which is why I gave it one star, however it did not work. Like an idiot I didn't plug it in prior to the day we left which was a mistake. My husband and I plugged it into the camper and it would not turn on. We thought maybe it just wouldn't work in the camper so we took it inside our home and plugged it in and no, the power cord showed a green light however the unit would not turn on at all. After reading the manual 10X and checking all the trouble shooting steps as well as online reviews of this unit we discovered this is a common defect. Now on to the next headache. I started the return process on Amazon which was approved and was told the shipping label would be created and sent to me within 2 days...it was not. I had to contact Amazon support again on the day it was due to be shipped by because I still did not have a return shipping label from the seller. It was still another additional day after they contacted the seller before I had it which meant I had to rush to the UPS store after work to get it out only to find that I also had to pay for the return shipping on this defective unit which was over $100. Best case senario is that I will get my refund prior to my next camping trip so we can go to our local Home Depot to buy a replacement and I will just be out $100 to ship the crap back.Save yourselves the same headache and just go to your local home improvement store. Lesson learned.

Great A/C in All
I bought this unit couple years ago and it's still going strong. Delivery on point. Set up was easy especially for a woman. I liked the fact it had a built in Dehumidifier. Only small issue I have it the control buttons on the panel are so dang sensitive. I'm not one of electronic gadgets at all. Show me physically how to do something no problem but the second I accidentally touch a wrong button on the panel and I'm lost. The instructions was no help to me. So with this being said, when your stuck in a situation and don't know what to do just unplug it from the wall wait about 15-20 min and plug it back up then all is right back to being so freaking cold cause I love it that way because my body is going through the change and I have to have my room iceberg cold, WHEWWW....I'm happy again.
