Before deciding on an Omega-3, I did a lot of research on the web and talked to the manager at my local health store who knows homeopathic and nutraceuticals like a PhD I know. He agreed that this is probably one of the finest omega-3s available. Carlson is one of the best, perhaps the best, because of the way the fish are located (deep- cold water Norwegian), the way they're sourced, the manufacturing process, and even the vegan gel used in the manufacturing process. Some omega gel caps use gelatin sourced from pigs (porcine), snakeskin, or cow (bovine). For instance Knox gelatin is sourced from pigs and called "porcine." If your product ingredients simply says "gelatin," you might consider a call to the company (the phone number is usually on the label for consumer questions), and just ask someone in consumer inquiries what the gelatin is sourced from. I think you'll be surprised. The better gelatin is typically sourced from wheat the same way any product wanting to be considered Kosher for general use is sourced from wheat fibers as well.If you have questions about the sourcing of Omega, and decide to give the Carlson company a call, they'll direct you to consumer affairs who will literally load you up with information about where the fish are caught, and everything you could possibly want to know about the Carlson brand. You may not be interested in that much information but it goes a long way in telling you what the company is all about, completely transparent and quite obviously very proud of the product they sell. You can't beat that with a stick. You can also get a variety of strengths in one gel cap, ranging from 500 mg to 1650 mg in one gel cap. I think they call this their elite brand.

I take Omega 3 for the heart health benefits. After taking this brand for a few years, it was getting too expensive for me, so I decided to buy a cheaper brand. Suddenly, my usually durable and long fingernails were all thin and breaking constantly. I didn't think of the connection to the Omega 3. After a couple bottles of the cheaper brand, I worried that I might not be getting any health benefits from it, so I ordered Carlsons again. It wasn't long before my nails became stronger again. Zero chipped or broken nails!It can be hard to tell if the vitamins and supplements we take are really doing anything for us. But if it can make this obvious of a difference in my nails, I've got to believe it's doing something for my heart too!

I've been a fish oil taker for years. I usually get the Carlson's lemon liquid which I take from a medicine measuring cup every morning and night. Like a lot of other athletes, I take about 3000 mg (3 grams) per day of ACTUAL DHA and EPA. (Fun fact... that's what you want to look for when you buy fish oil... not just the overall weight of the pill... the EPA and DHA content are what you're looking for. ALA too, but not as much. I wanted something a little more portable that didn't require refrigeration this time and ent through all of the options to purchase Carlson's in capsule form and the breakdown on these was the best. Per 2 capsules you get 1600mg EPA/DHA, so at 4 caps per day, I get a month's supply for less than $1 a day. There are a lot of other places selling lower concentration pills for much more. Will probably go back to the liquid next time (it's 7 cents cheaper per day) but hold on to these for travel and would definitely buy them again! Highly recommend if you can't handle the taste or texture of liquid fish oil as these come from quality sourced fish which are third party tested for safety and the presence of heavy metals and mercury. Winning.

Very good product I wished the delivery was faster

Been using these about 3 months. I've take only one per day. Prior to taking this I did suffer often from very dry eyes, especially at night while in bed. Since taking these though, the dry eyes have stopped. There have been no problems with the packaging or color and any cloudiness of the capsules. They are large capsules but they go down easy. I've never experienced any reflux fishy taste. I take one before dinner. I recommend and will continue to buy this product.

Not sure why Amazon always wants me to rate products before I even get them in the mail to try?! Thankfully I have been buying these for a year.. just first time ordering from Amazon. I used to hate having to take fish oil pills because you could taste fish when you took the pill itself and then I would occasionally burp up fish throughout the day and it would make me want to throw up until my Mom gave me a few try and I have never purchased anything else since. They are very easy to swallow, the flavor is a nice lemon flavor and I don't burp up fish all day! I do wish they were so expensive but, not bad for how much better they are over the other brands!
