Just installed and went on with ease. Note instructions say when installing stretch to 3Xs the length therfore you're really getting about 45 ft of material as package shows 15ft.

Top of the line self amalgamating rigging tape.

The previous boat owner had taped the shrouds up with regular electrical tape, which had gotten dirty, come unraveled and left a sticky mess everywhere. I wanted true rigging tape, which adheres to itself and doesn't leave residue behind. I took a risk on this tape because in the picture the tape looks like it has a grain to it, which is not what the type of tape I was looking for should have, but the description fit. In fact, the grain you can see in the picture is from the paper that separates the layers of tape, not the tape itself, which is smooth. The tape had great stretch, adhered to itself well and looks like it will do a great job keeping the water out.

Once I figured out the directions, it was easy. I was confusing sail tape with this product. This bonds with itself when stretched to seal the item. Definitely a plus when pulling my 160% Genoa out and around the side stays to prevent a ring-ding from puncturing or scratching the sail.

This stuff is incredible. I use it for my sailboat rigging and keeping wire burrs from tearing off my skin and clothing. It's simple to wrap and creates a rubbery and durable protection on your rigging. I keep a roll in my nav drawer for preventative maintenance or emergencies.
